Set your expectations

Location, cost
Green Valley Resort is a fine place to stay as long as you set your expectations accordingly. Ton Sai itself is a fabulous little laid back beach community. If you want to stay in a true resort, stay on Railay West. If you want to enjoy the hippy atmosphere and only need a place to rest your head at night, then Green Valley will be just fine. The rooms are very basic, there are small gaps in the walls and ceiling so you will likely have some lizards as roommates as well as ants, and the electricity only works at night. No wifi in the rooms, but most of the restaurants offer free wifi. Overall I felt the place was just fine for what I needed.

tourists stay away! travelers.. come chill ;)

nice away spot...very cool reggae bars ;) great climbing and kyacking
Booked a wood hut $15pn.. I simply asked (with a big smile ) if I could have a Concret hut..much cooler.. they were more then happy to upgrade .. very cool people and happy.. sure the room was bit dirty.. so I spent 10 mins to clean it.. no big deal ;) be aware power is only on from 6pm to 6am. Easy stroll to beach (maby 300m).. eat at the beach front restaront.. good food.. try No:28.. a real "hippy" place .. if you catch my drift ;)-~ and everything is cheep.

Cheap deal for travellers

cheap deal, accessible, friendly staff
It was an ok stay. Since I am only sleeping at night (all-day climbing), I could not complain because I could stay for more weeks because the room is cheap. If you are looking for comfort, probably not a place for you. But it was a great 7-day stay!

Really budget hotel

It's literally just a hut in a jungle. It's cheap though, which was good as I hardly spent any time there since theres so much to do elsewhere. Staff are friendly too

For the price it was fine. No power during the day as generator is switched off.

Horrible stay.

Horrible place to stay. We had ignored other negative reviews thinking people were just being picky but our stay terrible. The staff were very rude and would pretend to not speak english whenever you needed anything from them. When we arrived having booked and paid for 2 rooms they pretended like they only have one room left (the cheaper concrete box) not the 2 more expensive wooden bungalows we had paid for. When we complained saying 3 of us wanted our 2 rooms we had booked they caved and gave us another room (grudgingly). Every inquiry was met with rudeness. Try and buy some wifi time and you get yelled at for asking such a difficult task of them. We all got horrible food poisoning from their restaurant, not well cooked fish. There is no electricity other than a generator at night which is really noisy from the lower bungalows. Definitely don't stay here, they won't keep you a room (they didn't even have knowledge of our booking) and they will treat you badly.

Great spot for tonsai climbers, awesome staff!

Staff, clientele, location
I had an excellent time. The staff was great! Very attentive, kind, and helpful. Went out if their way to make my stay great and to help me with transportation arrangements afterwards. Perfect for climbers. The food is great and well prepared / cleaned. The beds left something to be desired though.

Laid back

Once you check in, you're there until you say that you want to leave.
Would definitely stay there again, although I think during the high season it's probably difficult to find availability.
