West Wing Stay was great
We found our room in the West Wing to be very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. I always like staying on Shamian Island as it a quiet oasis that is still close to everything you need, and especially the wholesale markets in Guangzhou.

Staff were considerate enough and helped us upgrade my old folks room to a better one.

East wing. Good hotel overall but reception staff are aloof and do not engage well. Pity as it would have made all the difference. Pool and gym area very run down. My room was very comfortable but street noise was constant. Shamian island is a lovely spot in Guangzhou.

Great spot
I stayed in the west building for two weeks, the decor is nicer than the west,I upgraded to a balcony room but kind of regret it,the room was great, spacious but you will get a few mozzys, can't be helped but the damn taxi drivers with their horns, one morning I was woken to a taxi sounding off non stop for a whole minute, but this isn't the hotels fault. I would definitely stay again everyone was very warm and welcoming and patient as I have two Chinese words in my vocabulary.
