It was a great experience to stay in this hotel. The room was well designed combining Thai temple style and modern hotel room. The room is very large. For improvemnet, the frontdesk should be open 24 hour for the late check-in.

The Worst Ever in my 25 Year Travel Experience !!!

I cant even think of one......hmm.....Sorry Can't

First and foremost...the service was the worst ever experienced, the whole hotel had 3 staff, no receptionist. We checked in late at 9 pm....the hotel was completely empty...not a single person or staff around. A carpenter checked us in 1 hrs after trying to figure what was going on...call to a few people by the Carpenter ( Reception )....he had us talk to the owner, ...nothing improved. Morning breakfast was 2 breads with ham and egg...request for more bread was denied. No internet was provided....in short do not stay here....Period.

Awful experience

Nothing, nothing and nothing, Just terrible memory
3.3
It is very far from downtown of Chiang Mai, about 30 km. Even it is close to an elephant camp, the car driver arranged by the hotel brought us to another camp far away where I could not use my credit card. It took me 600 THB each trip to the downtown or the airport. You can not change money in hotel or nearby. The resort is just a four-floor building with a small dirty pool. The waiter/waitress' English is terribly broken, and I could not get any useful information from them. Breakfast in everyday was always the same fried eggs with sausage. Its information on Agoda tells it is close to some scene spots but there is no any local transportation. Each time you go out for lunch or dinner you have to rent a car for at least 600 THB!

Perfect if you do not want to be in Chiang Mai

Peaceful

It is very important to understand this resort in not actually in the city. In fact, it is a long 20 to 30 minutes from the city, which means a 1,200 Baht round-trip taxi ride every time you wish to visit the city. If your needs include restaurants, buying, and the general conveniences of being in Chiang Mai, this is not the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing hotel doing nothing but enjoying a lovely hotel and the peaceful environment, this hotel has much to recommend. Also, if you will be spending more time visiting the Baan Thong Luang (Mae Rim) area, the elephant camps around Chiang Dao area, or the other areas north of Chiang Mai, this hotel is closer to those areas than the downtown Chiang Mai hotels. The front desk staff was extremely helpful arranging taxis and tours, while the rooms were clean and free from mosquitoes. (Friends who stayed in Chiang Mai city noted they were bothered by mosquitoes, so we were pleased not to have to deal with sleepless nights caused by mosquitoes hovering overhead.) The price for the hotel was definitely reasonable, and it met our needs, so we were very pleased with it. Merely be aware that it might be somewhat inconvenient for some people.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: We actually enjoyed the Ban Thong Luang area, though some people have commented on the exploitation of the minority peoples in this village. The area itself is beautiful, and I would say visit it merely for the views if you object to the idea of minority peoples being used for tourist purposes.

nice place with great service

close to the attractions

if you want a quiet place outside of the city muang gudi is a good place to stay. they are located close to tiger kingdom, elephant safari, the botanical gardens, and the orchid farm. we rented a moto from the hotel and had no problem getting around to all the spots. if you want a natural setting outside the city muang gudi is a good choice. fair price and clean, nice rooms. very friendly and helpful staff. quite.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: rent a moto and go explore all the area has to offer. cheap, easy, and fun way to get around.

Close to some attractions, big (empty) room

We decided to stay here based on the reviews on Agoda (yes we did see some negative feedback) and the photos from the resorts website. Firstly the photos on the resorts web site look much better then reality. Our room was large but very dark and dismal. The toilet had not been cleaned properly as lifting the toilet seat revealed how to say it...a "yellow glow". We could constantly hear a dog barking which we realised was coming from the vacant land right outside our window. 15m of so away there appeared to be a permanent dog enclosure. We spoke to reception but they were not that helpful and acted almost if they did not know about it. Luckily the dog did settle down as it got late. Breakfast was confusing as no staff were there to greet. When they did arrive we opted for the Congee. What we received was instant congee from a packet that was so bland we ended up not eating it (I'm sure it would have made fine glue though). Reading the reviews I can see others have had similar experiences. With some TLC I'm sure this place could be quite nice but until then you would do better to avoid.

Has Potential but needs some TLC

The staff was pleasant

I arrived rather late having travelled all day by train from Bangkok. When I arrived the person at the dest seemed taken aback that I arrived and I thought that I might not have a room. There was a bit of a language barrier as well. The man at the desk called someone and another man showed up that spoke English a bit better. Eventually, my friend and daughter and I were taken to our rooms (I had reserved two). My room had a large area of mold, mildew and whole just above the entrance and there was water all over the tile/stucco floor ~ a safety hazard for sure. Upon entering the room, which looked okay on the surface. I made my way into the sleeping area and crashed for the evening. In the morning, when I wanted to call my friend's room but the phone did not work. I proceeded to take a shower, where the water pressure was very low, and the shower head was clogged; making the water shoot out in the bathroom. This made washing rather difficult not to mention getting shampoo out of my hair. The pool was cold and not cleaned or skimmed to remove. My friend and I decided that it was bad enough that we checked out four days early. We hoped we might get a refund on days not spent there, but we didn't. Even so, it was worth it to move to another location.
Travel tip: I do not recommend this location. Keep looking!
