Comfortable hotel, good location, good value...
Staff was very accommodating, Rooms very comfortable, public baths were very nice...
It was a very relaxing and pleasant stay. 1. Hotel only has one restaurant open for dinner which is French Cuisine. A little pricy but the food was outstanding and presentation superb. Service was excellent. 2. They don't have a full (American) bar set up but one of the managers of the restaurant can make an excellent Martini! 3. you have a choice for breakfast whether it is American Style or Japanese so we did one of each for our two breakfasts. Each was very delightful, tasty, with nice presentation. 4. They don't have room service. 5. Taxis are pretty scarce after 6:00pm, having to wait at least 20 minutes for one to arrive. 6. There are a number of restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk or 2-3 minute car ride. 7. Would definitely recommend having a rental car as a number of attractions including Ashinoko (LAKE) is about 20 minutes from the hotel. 8. Lots of attractions within a 15-20 minute car ride.

Wonderful view, garden, and hot spring.
1. Huge lawn, 2. Beautiful garden path along the stream, 3. Nice hot spring facilities
Though better than average in Japan, the English ability of their waiters still has room to be improved.

Very enjoyable onsen, spoilt by snow in April.
Onsen, gardens, haute cuisine
A hotel of contrasts. No internet in the room. Very enjoyable gardens, rendered dramatic by an unexpected snowfall in mid-April. At the bottom of the garden is an attractive bridge over a substantial river, and we sighted a bird we thought might be a crane. Super experience. No dining room - all meals are served in the haute cuisine French dining room. OK for breakfast (included in the room price, although the lack of choice palls after a while) but rather stretching the budget for other meals. Surprisingly chilly in public areas. The hot spring baths are superb, spacious, undoubtedly the most enjoyable experience here. The area as a whole has a lot to offer tourists, but on the main roads the buses stop running by 9 pm, and on quieter roads by 5.30. Taxis expensive. 45 mins to the Gotemba Premium Outlet Malls - all your duty free shopping in one day, like 3 Changi airports mashed into one.

Big room but expensive
Near Bus Stop
A decent hotel near bus stop and the glass museum. But the rent is a but expensive and so as the breakfast. I suggest not ordering breakfast in the hotel but go to the cafe in the glass museum. The hotspring pools are nice but the security could be better as no staff was there and the men might actually go to the women's pools.

Wonderful brief respite...
Location along bus line, the spa area, the walking areas
'Magical We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay there. The spa areas were lovely and well-maintained. We enjoyed walking around the grounds. Our evening meal in the restaurant was superb; the wait staff was attentive without being over bearing.

Comfortable and spacious accommodation
Friendly staff; large rooms that can accommodate 3 adults; quiet and relaxing surrounds
Hakone Highland Hotel was exactly what my parents and I needed for our stay in Hakone. The hotel is conveniently located right near a bus stop. The Glass Forest is also just down the road. Overall a very comfortable stay.
