I totally enjoyed my 2 stays at this hotel. Despite the hotel listing themselves as 1 Star, it is easily 3 Star any day of the week. The staff are hugely helpful and friendly, and can't do enough to help you. The rooms beautifully well kept and spotless. The bathroom is perfect- basically i couldn't fault the place at all. Whenever i go back to Hanoi, i will only stay at this hotel.

Best hostel on our trip so far!

Location, staff, value for money

We stayed at this hostel for four nights and our stay here was fantastic! Both day and night receptionists (Khanh and Thi) were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They helped us organise Sapa trekking, Halong Bay Cruise and the night train to Hue and allowed us to shift our prepaid nights around to fit with the tours. All staff was friendly and always had a smile on their face. The rooms were modern and clean and came with TV (including English movie channels), good WiFi, minibar, big comfortable bed and wardrobe. Room service happened daily. Also included was daily breakfast with several choices from Western to Vietnamese - I loved the banana pancakes! As the hostel is in a narrow house there are only two rooms per floor, so you might end up on a high floor (up to 6) and have to climb up the stairs - which we didn't mind. Street noise was a bit annoying in the morning, might be better on the other side.

The Culture Hostel was one of the best places we stayed at during 1 month of Vietnam. Perfectly situated in a not too busy street of the old quarter and very clean and lovely rooms. We had the top floor and the view was awesome with a tiny balcony that you could step out on. Especially i have to mention Mr Thi, who gave us the warmest welcome that you could imagine. He helped us out with anything we needed and even managed to provide a pack of cooling-ice for my leg (i snapped it in Ninh Binh before) in the middle of the night within seconds! He gave us very good advices for restaurants around and we were always happy having him around. This place is 100 % worth the money !!!!!

Highly recommended

The people who run it were so lovely. Really friendly, informative and went out their way to make it an easy and enjoyable stay. Beds are super comfy and rooms clean and large with great showers.

Good value for money

Very good location, nice rooms, friendly staff

I stayed for two nights and given the price that I paid it was simply too good to be true. I would have given the maximum rates if only the second day the wifi didn't stop to work on my floor and the hot shower did not become barely warm.

Nice Friendly little Hotel

Value, at that price, it's value for money, Decent Breakfast AND friendly staff.

Decent stay. Value for money. Good: 1) Value for money, it's a comfortable budget hotel, decent room, clean toilets which they cleaned daily, with fresh towels. 2) Friendly helpful staff, probably a little too attentive, if you needed laundry done, recommend a good day trip, they're the go to people. 3) Decent breakfast with various fixed choices, just forget the "Pho", better value outside. Although they serve "Pho" from vendors around outside of the hotel, the pho hardly have any meat. Their bread with omelette and fruit & cornflakes are better. Decent fruit platter n juices at self service section. Strong Vietnamese Coffee and tea, refillable. Neutral: Location, you'd love the Old Quarter and hate it at the same time. It's where budget hotels are, local people live, black smiths hammer away, Bia Hoi (local brewed beer in the street corners), and everything. Right in the middle and can be a little spaced out. So beware, Old Quarters is convenient, yet frustrating. Not so good: Only 1 complaint, I had room 201 on the 2nd floor. Some people have to hike and climb up 6 flights of not very comfortable staircases. They have no lifts. If I had been given 601, I would've walked out, regardless payment status (of which I paid in full) and seek one with elevators. Oervall, good value, what's more to say.
