Decent stay
No issues. Shower could have been better as it was small and didn't have much pressure but everything was clean and it was in a good spot to explore the old quarter.

Good hostel and nice staff
I booked for 4 nights. I was transferred on my first day due to over booking but asked to return after one night. I like the female owner - very friendly, kind, and respectful. I dont liketheir partner hostel - very poor in customer service, don't know how to entertain people or guest. The male at night in the reception was so helpful too. He will give your advice on anything about Hanoi. He was friendly too. Their number asset in this hostel is their STAFF and PEOPLE. Wifi was working right. I dont like to eat along the streets and try exotic Vietnamese food. I would like to recommend buffet breakfast at Delano Hotel located at 35 Batsu street, a walking distance from the hostel. Staffs were kind and entertaining. Very cheap breakfast with a class.

Good cost effectiveness, but...
I'd stayed 2 nights (at standard double) and 1 night (at family). Very kind staff and good hospitality. I like them and well satisfied. However, the space between toilet and wall (of standard double) is too small. Even though my height is less than 180cm, I could succeed "the nature's call" VERY HARD. Remember, anyone who is taller than me, dont book std room. Also, dont expect room cleanliness. I found 3 aussie dollar coins and a french woman's air ticket (Jul/2015) in the corner. And I found 2 turtle neck tshirts in the closet. (Funnily, I left my thinkpad bluetooth mouse in the room! Very misterious hotel lol) if I visit Ha Noi again, I want to stay here again but will book a room of city view.

Cheap sleep with ok rooms
These simple rooms offer everything you need and may expect for the price you pay. They are small and simple, but aircon works fine and beds are ok. Cleanliness of the bathroom could be better. Staff is very friendly and even bought a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. Book your excursions somewhere else as they are overpriced in the hotel, and staff tried to push a low-quality boat in Ha Long Bay by heavily overstating it's quality.

2 weeks of sleep deprivation
Good points: cheap, friendly staff, clean towel every day, curtain around the bed for privacy, little fan for each bed, good air con (when they bothered to switch it on), good speedy wifi Bad points: wobbliest bunk bed I've ever slept in, rock hard mattresses, loads of noise from the street, air con only switched on after 9pm and I had to ASK every single time, for a few nights in a row a male staff member set the air conditioning to 28•c so it was actually cooler outside and I lay in a puddle of sweat, bathroom door in the dorm really noisy and the lock was broken so you'd have to open it with your fingernail but every time a new person was staying in the dorm they'd stand there knocking on the bathroom door for 10 minutes before they realised that nobody was in there. Maybe I was just unlucky but I seemed to be staying here at the same time as really noisy people and guests who thought air conditioning wasn't necessary. IT IS. The bathroom was constantly wet because of a leaking shower head. Hair blocking the plug was gross, bathroom had a generally bad smell going on. Basically I was a wreck by the time I checked out and I needed to book a night in a hotel around the corner about 9 days in because I felt like I was losing my mind. The absolutely no refund policy sucks so I couldn't check out and go somewhere nicer. Thank you Agoda for trying to help though! I'd avoid this place unless you're a heavy sleeper or staying in a private room. :)
