Worth the money

location, price, hospitality

I've stayed in Hanoi Summit Hotel for one night and it was so fine. Even though the room doesn't smell so nice, the bed isn't so clean, all have signs of age, but still much better than expected with that kind of price. I think if anyone who is easy going, just need one place to lay his back in center of Hanoi, this hotel is the one he needs.

warning! this place is a threat to your health!

i was traveling asia quite some time now and normally don't give bad references as i always consider the low price i'm paying. this time, however, i have to make an exception and warn everybody not to book this place ever! after arrival, we were told they didn't have rooms and we would be transferred to another hotel. there, we were confronted with unfriendly staff who didn't want to cooperate in any way! the room i was assigned was not only disgustingly dirty (used sheets, used soap, pee on the toilet seats,...) but also a really real hazard to one's health as the walls were covered with mould everywhere some people who complained about that immediately after seeing the room (one of them had asthma) were refused to get their passports back without paying for the room and then even got physically attacked by the receptionist when they took their passports anyways. i would never ever recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemies! be warned, at that place you're not treated like customers but like enemies.

An experience to say the least

Strong wifi, great location
6.7
This hotel is in a perfect location in the old quarter of Hanoi minutes away from all back packer areas and bars and restaurants. Its very cheap so an ideal stay however the staff are rude and dont like to do much and they are very very noisy. They were up shouting and singing playing loud music till past midnight and it started again at 6:30am so as you can imagine little sleep was had. The beds are very hard and the pillows not comfy as they have been washed so all bitty. The shower door has been removed and the shower is not flush to the wall so the bathroom floods and as it is not classed as a wet room has gone all mouldy so the rooms smells damp. The wifi is great and the rooms come with a fridge and tv. No breakfast is provided either. We checked out of this hotel after one night and booked another hotel for the same price which was twice the size included breakfast and free toiletries and was even closer to all facilities. Look around for the best price and facilities to suit you. This hotel wasnt bad but wasnt good either!!

Great location

The location in the Old Quarter couldn't be better; near transportation; staff attended to requests;

This was the 3rd time I've stayed there. This time with a new owner, different staff. Not as well-maintained as last time: shower sliding panel missing. TV sound fuzzy.

The staff were very friendly and prepared a very competitive trip to both sapa and halong bay. The beds are not the best but the rooms are clean and well kept. Overall, I would stay here again.

Ctrally located, easy to find, the rooms are nice and wide, better to take a twin bed room with window. The rooms are clean, just don't use the free toothbrushes you will find in the room... After many days using them, we have realised that the new ones where already dirty, even if they where still in the new closed package... Bleah!everything else is ok, even though the staff is not the kindest we've ever met.

two weeks spent here, but always bad treatment...

some rooms are nice, location is very good, in some room internet is strong

We have spent over two weeks in this hotel. The first room we had, a superior, was nice an clean. We had to stay longer for medical treatment, so we had to change room 4 times. Unfortunately, the staff (except one girl) are very rude and only understand you when you show them the $$$$$. Even though we stayed many days, they treated us like we were bothering, never had a smile or a nice word. They never asked us how we were doing, even if they knew we were going to the doctor very often (in many restaurants they asked us every day...). The rooms they gave us were worse and worse, with a/c not working, smell of mould, almost no wifi, sometimes no water, very often full of ants and with dirty linen... Good start, but then it became worse every day... The last room we had was the kingdom of mould...we left two days earlier... The tourist in this country is not seen as a richness, but as a wallett full of money, nothing else... That's why people don't come back to vietnam... The staff is simply inadequated and not helpful at all... The excursions they sell are overpriced, sometimes double price...
