Unforgettable experience
Before checking into Haru, I worried about the quality as the feedback from other tourists seem not good. However, I am quite satisfied with the experience in Haru. The location is excellant. You can only takes 4 mins to Shin-Okubo station from the hotel. The room and bathroom are clean. The staffs are very nice. They will change the towels and throw the rubbish everyday. For the disadvantage, the bedding is not washed. But I believe that is the stain that cannot be washed esaily and it is not smelly. The doors are dilapidated. And there are no rubbish bin in bathroom, which may cause inconvenience to female tourists (if you live in family room, of course you can move the rubbish bin to bathroom). If you are looking for cheap and clean hotel, Haru can be a good choice!:)

Dirty Hotel (Ryokan)
It is 3mins walk from Shin-Okubo station (JR East)
95% of the hotels are full during last 2 weeks of December 2015. So I've got not much choices. The Hotel (ryokan) is situated along a small alley and looks old from the outside. Check in was smooth (3pm) and the walk way looks pretty decent for a ryokan. We were later directed to our room on the second level. The room was meant for 5pax but we have only 3pax. Room is small for 5pax. Once the futons are fully laid, that's not much space for luggages if is for 5pax. There's an additional small room in the room that we stayed in. So we placed all our luggages in that tiny room as we were told that the Aircon could not be turned on in that room. Only the section where there's a tv comes with Aircon. You could imagine how cold it could be at night if there's really 5pax to stay in. It comes with an attached toilet. I couldn't expect too much from a one star hotel but the tatami is really dirty. The futon mattress and pillows do not clean to me.

you only pay for the good location
location,
The location was really good, you have access to the green JR line, which brings you to a lot of tourist spots. Also we found some nice bars around the Hostel for the evening and also enough shops. The rooms are REALLY small. I booked a 6-person room for 5 people and we barely had enough space to just put down our luggage. We could not sleep very well in the "beds", they were extremely hard and the air condition worked really slowly. Also the room was never really cleaned during the 7 night we stayed there, they only took out the garbage. All in all it was okay for a week in Tokyo, because it was cheap.
