Could be comfortable if you have a nice neighbour

Good location, fast check in, nice shared area
I stayed one night in a shared 12-bed room, Unfortunately a young couple, in front of me, did lots of personal business from 2 am till 3:30 when their friends came in. Till 5am they talked and laugh, so I couldn't sleep at all :-( Generally the hostel seems nice if you've got good neighbours.

Ok for one night

Cleanliness, staff, bathroom in the room
The staff was very nice and the city center is a 15 min walk. The room was clean. However, there is only(poor) wifi in the common areas and the heating was broken in our room. They gave us a portable one but it was still a bit chilly. I would not go back mainly because of the wifi -unfortunately this is a must nowadays.

More than your average backpackers

Plenty of people around to help, nice decor, everything easy to find
Great place for a city stay. Plenty of information and activities for newcomers to the area. Close to shopping, canal side and bus stops. The place feels modern, even though the original building is Victorian and traditional. Noisy/lively at night, but the room was quiet and comfortable and there was never any problem asking for and getting help with settling in, laundry, cleaning etc. I would definitely recommend Hatters to my international friends if they mention they will be visiting England. :-)

1 nite...ok

15 to 20 walk to downtown.
Is a hostel for 1 nite so is ok ok. Not easy to find a cab driver maybe need to make few rounds to look for this hotel. Quiet and look a bit dangerous area at nite time. The breakfast, hardly anything just tea and coffee. Room's carpet smell a bit. The furniture and carpet look very old.
