Best budget hotel ever

Clean, and wonderful staff
Staying at Hello House is one of the most impressive experience during my travel in saigon. The whole hotel (public area & room & toilet) is the cleanest i have ever seen here. One can notice that the owner who runs this place spend lots of effort and thoughts on it. The staffs are also the most helpful i have ever seen in saigon. They speak good english with good manner and attitude, one of the staffs can also speak chinese. There is a shared balcony and i love it a lot. The only weakness to me is that there is not elevator in this hotel. If you have a very very heavy wheelcase, you might have to be able to carry it upstairs. All in all, i would recommand this hotel to everyone who wants to stay in d1 hcmc. The quality and the price is invincible here. Book Early!

good hotel for fair price

central location, friendly staff, free breakfast
The staff are very friendly and helpful and they speak good English. The hotel is very clean, including the room, bathroom, linens, etc. The breakfast is basic but flexible. I booked the (slightly) more expensive room "Superior City View" primarily because I wanted a window, but I later regretted that choice because the window didn't have a curtain, which meant my room was bright at 6 am. My friends chose the "standard" without a window and were able to sleep in fine. I talked to the staff about the problem. The next day when I checked out I was shocked that they offered to reimburse the difference in the room price. That was not my intention when I brought the issue to their attention. In any case, I appreciate the thought. The staff said they plan to install a curtain on the window so it's not a problem anymore. The water heaters need to be replaced. In my room and a friend's room, the water went from cold to scolding hot with nothing in between. Another friend couldn't get any hot water. But the weather is so humid, cold water is just fine. My gripe, however, is with their strange passport policy. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels all over the world, and this is the first and only hotel I've ever encountered that insists on keeping your passport in their custody while you stay there. Most hotels in Asia will simply make a photocopy. Well this part I could like with, but if they insist on such a ridiculous policy, they should make very sure that they at least give it back to you when you check out. The staff did not return my passport when I checked out, and I did not realize it until I was half way to the airport. Luckily it was a Sunday morning and we had enough time to make a U-turn and go back and retrieve it. But that situation could have turned out differently. In short, I like this hotel, I really like the staff and I’d stay there again, but I’d book the standard room and I wouldn't allow them to keep my passport.

Helpful and friendly staff - Good Location

Staff, Location, Quiet
Great staff very helpful. I stayed on the 3rd floor, they could do with a lift, a bit tiring climbing all the stairs after a long day. Good location in so far as it was relatively close to the action Bui Vien St but far enough away not to be too noisy at night. Plenty of options in Bui Vien St for food, massages and just sitting and watching the world go by. Could do with a bit more variety in terms of local food for the included breakfast. Would recommend it highly, probably a little overpriced for the market they are in but friendly staff make up for it.

Excellent room, lovely staff

Clean , comfy beds, great staff
Rooms were clean and a good size, with comfy beds and staff were lovely and helped us with everything we needed even exchanging dollars for us for Cambodia. We left to go to the mekong and rebooked to stay here when we came back and they had taken our bags that we left up to our room for when we arrived back which may not seem like much but to us arriving back tired it was great!

Great stay

The staff, location, breakfast
I had a positive experience staying here. The staff were kind and friendly, the room was small but fine for a short stay and the location is really good. It's down an alley but its not dodgy and I think it's better to stay away from the main backpackers road.

Couple trip to hcm 2days

Extremely cosy & homely environment. Friendly staff and owner. Near the most busiest street for nightlife.
Cosy place. Very homely. Tho the air con of my room was down when I checked-in, the staff rendered assistance promptly and even offer us another room to rest for a couple of hours before it was fixed. A great variety of delicious breakfast tho it wasn't Vietnamese food. Love this hotel! At least a 9/10.

Perfect location, comfort, staff and price

Great location, very friendly staff, comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, silent because in a small street, very good surprise!!
We were 3 couples and all 3 had a great experience, perfect rooms, the staff gave us advice on places to eat, breakfast was good: we could choose from cereals to eggs and bacon to noodles, etc. Honestly this hotel is very good, all the more when you add the price into the balance because it is very cheap. I would definitely go back to this place because we had nothing negative to say, the experience was a good surprise Don't be surprised if they ask to keep your passport, apparently they have to bring them to the police to register us
