Great Location, Central Cairns!

Location, Good room size, good simple FREE breakfast.

Had a good stay. PJ's pub noise wasn't too bad but was expected. This time I discovered the Heritage en-suites, which are quite economical, and cheaper than the "newer" section of the hotel, although not as nice, but fine if your just travelling for work and want to save some TA. Trick though, Heritage en-suites were only available on the Agoda phone app, not on the regular website, weird!

The room was definitely not worth what we paid. The shower taps were attached to a random wall in the bathroom not actually in the shower

Amazing heritage lift

The 1926 elevator was amazing. My 12 year old was facinated by the doors. We went for numerous rides. This is not something you see every day and definately worth the visit.

The staff were very friendly. One nice fellow even shared a story about the 1926 lift with my 12 year old daughter (that his father had been a elevator man in a department store) The rooms were ordinary but clean. The experience of riding the 1926 elevator was a once in a life time for my daughter The breakfast was ordinary but nice and having breakfast on the veranda was fantastic The pool was nice and quite (although in a strange place) The common room on the top floor was beautiful and very original. The outside rooms could be very noisy due to the backpackers partying across the road but if you had the windows closed and the fan on full it was quite enough to sleep through

Pretty basic accommodation, but great staff

Friendly, helpful staff; central location; historical hotel

Cleanliness could have been better - the aircon cover had fallen off in my room and was just left on the floor, plus there were a few rubbish items in the shower/on the floor from previous guests. Rooms are not cleaned at all during the stay. Bath towels were old and literally threadbare in places. On the upside, it's a central location, has a great balcony for enjoying the included breakfast, and I enjoyed staying at a place with such a long history in Cairns. All the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay.

I stayed overnight in hotel and I did not pay attention that I will use the common toilet. I think how that it is a rather common arrangement because I stayed in another place also with the shared toilet in the same price range.
