3 nights in Phnom Penh

Room size, room air-conditioning, views
A good hotel, albeit a taxi away from the city so be aware when booking, usually USD +5 dollars each way although tuk tuks can return you for less. Clean, comfortable (in your room), good room service. Probably the only downside is the location but the views are a bonus.

Outstanding value

amenities, food
personally it suited perfectly because I was looking for place away from the hustle bustle of Phnom Penh. Probably not the best location of you are only spending a short time and wish to see the sights. Also the Hotel is not well Known by the Tuck Tuck drivers and mine got lost both times I used them. Also because the hotel is over the bridge alongside the Mekong the price gets hiked up even though it is only about 3 kilometres from Central Market. Being out of season Agoda got me a very good deal for four nights and I practically had the whole hotel to my self and a spectacular 9th floor picture window view over Phnom Penh and the Mekong River. I had an excellent Breakfast included and full use of the Fitness Room, Steam Room, Sauna and Pool. Could not have suited my purposes better. Brilliant four days.

to wake up to a view like this is very special

pool, cleanliness and view
We arrived at this hotel midday, costs 4 dollars in a tuk tuk from the centre, it's over the estuary bridge on a sort of Manhattan style island, but away from the city, the hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled, it is like a palace inside, as soon as you check in ask for the highest room possible on the south side of the hotel! You will see why when the sun comes up :-) the pool juts off the side of the hotel on the 2nd floor overlooking the Mekong river, truest beautiful in my opinion, there is a brand new sauna and steam room if the heat oitside isn't enough for you hehe only bad thing is really is the food, breakfast isn't really very good, there is plenty to eat just not a great choice, they do give a small menu to us westerners with things like Bacon and such on, and they always offer more, but all in all this is still one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in across east asia

Building needs maintenance!

Cleanliness and view
Terrible, no English speaking staff to address the broken windows and green film covering half the view, or able to help with shower that didn't work! It was 7.10 pm!

Fantastic Views of the Mekong

The view, our suite, location
the location and rooms warrant the 4 star rating. Our suite was brilliant the views stunning. The location was good. However the food was disappointing. We booked our room with breakfast but after the first breakfast we did not want another. Food quality & selection was poor which surprised us given the remainder of the hotel was good. We think it had changed hands very recently as when we booked it it was called the Mekong Star. To attract more people from the tourist sector the food on offer needs to be much improved and a much wider range in terms of selection. The swimming pool was pleasant and deep. The water was extremely cold so one could not stay in long. There were no staff in attendance so one had to use the in house phone supplied to get the sauna and steam room turned on (though the latter did not appear to be working) and one had to wait for it to warm up prior to use.One also had to order drinks by phone. One cannot sit and enjoy the sun in the pool area as it is too shady where it is situated which is a shame. We would possibly stay here again because of the lovely room and stunning views from it but unless the food was vastly improved we would opt for a bed only booking and eat out

Great views!

The view, the view and the view
It's was just OK. The floors are of beautiful stone tiles. They keep them clean. But be careful! In three days on three different floors, the wet mopped floor caused me to slip. As an ice hockey player I was OK, but easy for someone to fall and crack their head open. Manager spoke good English. Staff were poor at English. Otherwise, great location and a pleasant stay.
