Could do better

Quiet location
We visited Hilltake for a relaxing time and opportunity to soak in their spa pools. We found the place to be cold and facilities uninviting. You shouldn't have to pay extra for these facilities. Restaurant was fine but pricey. Hot water was intermittent and we needed to ask a number of times to have it put on Most staff friendly and helpful

A nice escape from the city

The room was clean, quiet with a very nice restroom. The pool area was very nice. The hotel staff were overall pleasant and helpful.
My partner and I enjoyed the peacefulness of the hotel and its unique setting high on a hilltop overlooking the Kathmandu valley in the shadow of a Hindu statue. The pool area was nice but staff were needed to access it and then we were locked in; a little strange and inconvenient. The restaurant was an overall poor experience. We had one very pleasant waiter who was both attentive and helpful with great English skills. The restaurant itself is nice in its decor but has several issues. Many items from the menu were not available, most importantly espresso coffee drinks. We were told the menu was new; in my experience you should not roll out a new menu until you are ready for it. Breakfast was included with the room, but my partner ordered the Indian breakfast all 3 mornings and got a very different meal each day. Only the first morning was it both correct and appetizing. Each night the restaurant called our room at around 6:30pm to ask us if we would be coming in for dinner. I found this strange, intrusive and poor business behavior. Upon checking in we were not made aware of any special reservation policies or unusual hours of operation (I generally prefer to dine around 8pm). I have never heard of a hotel bothering their guests like this before in regards to their dinning plans. Our best meal experiences were off property at the small local establishments on the street outside the hotel. The spa was also not to our liking, but that may be due to cultural differences (I do not recommend if you are used to a western massage). We both went for a 45min therapeutic massage and 15 steam. The massages were both unenjoyable due to excessive oil and no actual massaging or pressure applied, simply fast moving hands rubbing the oil around. The massage rooms were cold and uninviting and we had to ask to be covered up. The steam was OK but just wanted to shower off the massage oil.

Not overall Happy!!

Peace, natural scenic beauty, health tips
Okies!! Swimming Pool was closed and not open to us!! Very far from city. You can't make sight seeing easy with this hotel! No bars and recreational facilities. Only peaceful. Worst thing was time limit to be outside your room was very early and access to public transport and outside is limited and time bound!! Tooooooo far from city centre!
