Overnight stay
We needed a hotel whilst visiting friends and having stayed at a Holiday Inn before this didn't disappoint. The only issue was accessing the wifi but the manager was very helpful.

Economic Quiet Location.
Free Breakfast, Free Basic Internet, Quiet Rooms.
Overall its a reasonable hotel, located on the A2 Motorway. Its around 3 miles from Canterbury city centre, so not easy to walk, as some parts lack pedestrian walkway. However, if you come out of the hotel and follow the pavement to the left, it leads to the old Roman Road, which is now a quiet lane, follow it as it turns to join another side turning from the A2, again turning left, after passing a few houses there is a bus stop under some trees. Here you can catch a bus (number 3/3B), which will take you to the city centre. Walking to the bus stop takes 10minutes, the bus journey varies, according to time of day, as the 3B is a school bus, with more stops, but averages 15 to 30 minutes. The buffet breakfast is included, so you can eat as much as you desire. It had sufficient choices, from toast, fry up, continental, cereal, fruit, or yoghurt, as well as hot drinks and juices. Its all self service. Only criticism is that only baked beans, sausages and scrambled eggs to choose from for your hot breakfast, along with toast. I think maybe fried eggs and bacon could be added, maybe tomatoes and mushrooms too, a I'm sure the chef could manage it! On the other hand, the evening meals at the restaurant were very good and the chef was excellent in my opinion. Basic internet included free, but pay extra for second person using it per room, or for faster connection. Staff were friendly and efficient.

a relaxing stay in a convenienly located hotel
location, food, free internet access
reception was a little intimidating, but perhaps my accent was a little strange for them too. enjoyed a relaxing 3 night stay in a convenient location ( I actually visited Herne Bay rather than Canterbury )

Cosy Rooms
Comfortable room,quiet, neat & cosy
-Comfortable Rooms, clean, neat & tidy -quiet environment, suitable for relaxation & retreat -location not so onvenient, has to walk 15 to 20 mintues after taking off from bus -has to wait for mroe than 1 hr at day-time, bus at Plough Inn Stop, bus always late from scheduled time -on the other hand, can watch natural scenery on the way to bus-stop: good cottages of fdifferent typer for small groups, grasslans & beautiful flowers & decoration, etc... -inside the hotel, not much facilities for in-house activities -the inner garden is Ok, catered for small group -Continental breakfast delicious, but feel boring as we stayed for 5 to 6 days -Conference Room, suitable for business or staff retreat -Double Rm with extra bed for My Adolescent dau, but only 2 sets of towels/cups -on the whole, acceptable

Clean and tidy but basic and poor location
Clean and Tidy
The staff were fien and the hotel was very clean. Facilities were as advertised but no more so overall that makes it quite basic e.g. only 8 or 9 TV channels not free-view, breakfast is not a full english (scambled eggs, sausage adn beans only). The location is well out of town and you can onl access from one side of a dual carriageway so you have to go way past and back again when coming from Canterbury. The in house restaurant has a very small menu and there is nothing else nearby except a Little Chef on the otehr side of the dual carriageway (the neighbouring services restaurant is closed).

Holiday Inn Canterbury
Room, food
Poorly signosted and easy to miss
Quite a superior budget hotel. The rooms were clean spacious and well fitted out. They don't do lunch, but do a nice dinner and a pretty good breakfast. It's about10-15 mins from the centre of Canterbury, and has lots of parking. It's really poorly signposted, especially if you are driving up from Dover when you also have to go past it to the next turnoff and come back down the other side of the road.

Comfortable stay
Nice room, well-maintained and surprisingly quiet, given its proximity to the A32.
About 10 minutes out of the centre and difficult to find a supermarket.
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were very efficient on arrival and the room we were given was spotless, though our special requests were not acknowledged(i.e. no twin beds, no high floor roooms). A continental breakfast was included in the room rate, though we did not manage to sample this due to a great night's sleep.
