Loved it hear. Felt like home.

Vibe. A/C. Breakfast.
We absolutely loved this place. Will no doubt stay here if ever returning to KL. The room has FREEZING A/C. The hotel has such great character. A great place to meet fellow travelers. Perfect location to everything in KL central. Food market 2 minutes walk. Common area is very comfy. Breakfast is best we had in SE Asia. Unlimited coffee and tea. Banana bread, fruit, toast, cereal, juice, milk. Have as much as you like. A+ you won't regret booking here if you dig simple accomodation.

Room decor and ambience / cleanliness / location
A hotel that asks you to remove your shoes before you enter? Well, the name is Homestyle. Overall very happy and satisfied for US$20, but first, a few small grouses. 1. A bit hard to find, especially at night. Hotel does not have big signboard, only LED display. Being in back alley, if you walk the wrong direction, you might have to walk past some rubbish bins. But safe and not too dark. 2. Telephone number on the booking voucher is a private mobile number (probably owner's) which did not get answered when I called several times from 3+pm to 7+pm. 3. Breakfast is just coffee / tea / milk with cereals that look like it's been there for long time. I did not touch. ______ OK now all the good points: 1. Room is very nicely and tastefully done up, with artworks on the wall, metal frame bed, nice khaki green sheets not the usual white. First impression was very positive even though room is small. Overall truly has "boutique hotel" feel. It has a window with "garden view". Very tiny "garden" but I appreciated the window, having a few times stayed at claustrophobic, windowless budget hotels. Shower works well but makes some noise due to a "water pump". Aircon was very quiet, so was overall locality. Only once I heard a subdued vehicle "broom". Room is clean and well-kept. 2. Locality is great, with plenty good food nearby - Jalan Alor for local fare, Chankat Bukit Bintang for drinks and Western fare including a well-stocked Whiskey bar and restaurant. And Bukit Bintang itself with plenty of "action". Long walk, or about RM5 to RM7 taxi ride away, are major shopping malls like Berjaya Times Square (where buses from Singapore terminate), Lot 10 (great local food court), StarHill and Pavillion (branded stuffs). 3. Guy at reception desk, Zam, is very pleasant and helpful :) .

Good Location

Good location for those first visit KL and looking for shopping district. Like some of the interior decoration art but too many mosquitoes.

Location- nice design of the common facilities- relatively clean
Well, the rude welcome of the staff -not even greeting me when I arrived- gave from starting a bad impression although the owner turned to be friendly at the end. However staff is not good and never present or rarely to be seen. I disliked although the fact that bathrooms were separated from the bedroom at the end of the corridor. Not user-friendly in the middle of the night!!! Not sure I would go again

Stinky Guest House
Very bad experience. Very stinky hotel even the rooms. Unwashed linens, no wonder why they use grey cannot notice the dirt unless you smell them. Carry your own luggages...even if it had to be to the first floor(there is only ground + 1) Just in the middle of the very main city ... one has to notice this very carefully IN THE CENTER OF THE BACKSIDE OF ALL BIG BUILDING obviously you are in the midst of garbages. Free breakfast in nothing buy 4 varieties of cereals with hot water and creamer, few bread pieces with already used jam and butter. And to eat them with stinking smell from all around. Oh ... it was a night mare for us.

This is not a 3 star place

Location, Bed was Comfy, Private Room
It's a hard place to find - there are no signs out the front, just look for the weird painted wall. The courtyard itself is quite nice. The rooms are definitely not 3 star. Although they have private bathrooms they are not in the actual room itself, and you have to walk through a common area to get there. The bathrooms are the shower over toilet type, and the water was hot, so that's a plus. The guy at the front desk was a bit of a grump, and didn't seem that friendly when he greated me. In my room, the walls had holes in it, and there was a burn mark on my doona. The Wifi was pretty darn good though. The free breakfast was a bit of a farce. The coffee was nice, but I didn't brave the serve yourself apples that had been sitting there since the dawn of time, and other than that it was cereal and milk. It's a pretty good guesthouse, but it's not a 3 star hotel as advertised.

Best hotel in the area

location, value of money and staff
I arrived really late but the friendly staff showed me everything and upgraded my room. My friend wanted stay here too after seeing my room but they were fully booked. Then I checked out quite many other hotels nearby that I had to say it's the best at this price in the area.
