Hotel sign is too small

Room, location, comfort
I seriously hated it. It is so difficult to find the hotel as it is part of apartment. If u bring rental car better not to stay in this hotel. The staff is so unfriendly and made some mistake. For me i will not comeback anymore to this hotel.

Friendly service and good central location

Central location, clean rooms
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Abadia. From the hotel we were able to walk to all places of interest in central Madrid. There are 2 Metro stations within a ten minute walk with a direct line to Chamartin Station from where we took a high speed train to Segovia and Atocha Station (high speed train to Toledo) is about a 20 minute walk away. The room was well equipped and the bathroom was clean and modern. A good continental breakfast was available in the next door building. The reception staff were friendly and spoke good English. The entrance to the hotel is not obvious. There is a small plaque on an archway leading into a building that houses other occupiers and the hotel is on the second floor. It is located in a narrow back street and I did not feel happy about walking down this street after dark. However it is near the Calle de Atocha end of the street so not far to walk from the main road. The rooms on the Calle de Atocha side experience considerable traffic noise but this is reduced to minimal when the windows are closed (could be a problem during hot weather) We would be happy to use this hotel again if we ever return to Madrid.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Entrance to the Prado and Reina Sofia Museums is free most evenings. The spectacular ceremony of the Changing of the Guard takes place on the first Wednesday of the month (excluding August and September). We were lucky that our visit coincided with this. Entrance to the Royal Palace is free on Wednesday after 3.00pm
