Good hostel which could be great.

Location, friendly staff, large rooms.
This a decent budget option in a great central location. Our double room was big and the ensuite shower was hot with good water pressure. We also had a lovely little balcony which looked out onto the street. It's hard to fault the included breakfast/dinner - there aren't many hostels that offer this! They also have a nice, big roof terrace/bar area, with a good view over mexico city. All the staff are really friendly, particularly the cleaning staff who were all fantastic and always had a smile. Things to improve: Wifi only works well in the common areas. We found the bed uncomfortable - far too hard. We did the wrestling tour which cost 350 pesos and consisted of transport and a ticket with a face value of 80 pesos. A taxi wouldn't cost much more than 50 each way so we thought this was a massive rip off and we complained. Something to bear in mind. Also, we extended our stay by 2 nights and they wouldn't give us the room at the lower rate we paid on agoda so try to do all your booking online. Conclusion: pros outweigh the cons and I would happily stay here again if I came back to Mexico City. 4*.

Simple comfort in downtown Mexcio City

Frienly ambience, good internet, functional rooms, great price
I felt welcome, and had a good stay. The way the hotel works with shared breakfast and dinner options on the rooftop makes for a nice connection with other guests and staff. It was a friendly and functional place to enjoy the historic center if Mexico City.

great value for money

free airport pick up, free breakfast, free dinner
The hostel is centrally located and you can reach all the sites in the historic area on foot. Great services: free airport pick up, free breakfast, free dinner. The breakfast and dinner selection can be limited, but it is free so who cares. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place! We only had one bad encounter which could easily have ended up in a disaster. We booked a transfer to the airport two hours in advance. When we got to reception the transfer obviously had not been booked cause we were asked again by the young gentleman where we were heading. So he told us to wait 15 minutes, then another 10, and another 10 and so on. We finally got him to walk us in the direction of the car, but there was no urgency from his side at all to get us to the airport on time or help us flag down an alternative taxi. We finally met the driver an hour late and only just managed our check in. His mistake could have cost us a lot of money as flights in South America are not exactly cheap. He did not even apologise for his mistake but insisted that he had booked the taxi well in advance. Funny though that he had to ask us again where we were going...
