Convenient hotel based on location.

Surrounding hotels, restaurants, and pubs.
I can see that the rooms has been refurbished. But cafe needs refurbishment too. The chairs seem very old and with stains. Did not like the cigarette smell in lifts. Also I wished that there was a swimming pool. Check-in process and timing can be improved. Maybe Gerard is new?? Thanks.

Dated Hotel
The rooms need to be refurbished. The quality of the breakfast is getting from bad to worse. Staff are not as friendly as they used to be.

Good place

Consistent in quality
This is perhaps my tenth time staying in this hotel. It has always been good and comfortable. They only downside this time was the non-smoking room smelt of cigarettes and the hot water tap in the toilet in one of the rooms I booked didn't work. Was quite upset with that.

A Pleasant Surprise

Service (particularly by Sirus), newly renovated room, security personnel who are very alert.
Wasn't expecting much after reading reviews here and seeing the exterior of the hotel (which looks like it has seen better days) but my views changed as soon as I stepped inside and was greeted by friendly staff, especially Sirus, who offered me a complimentary upgrade because I had arrived very early and all the deluxe rooms were fully booked. The premier room I was upgraded to was fully renovated and had nice furnishings. However, the bathroom was a tad squeezy and the suction of the toilet bowl was not very strong. Also, there was a note that the hotel was still undergoing renovations and some noise can be heard in the daytime. Luckily I was prepared and had brought my ear plugs so I still managed to get a good nap! Again, I wasn't expecting much for breakfast but was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection. Also ordered room service for lunch and had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Both the food and service was good. On my second day, however, I received a call from front desk asking for my car plate number followed by another call asking for the make/model. This got me worried so I went down to check and the concierge directed me to the security department because a car had been hit by a reversing car and they wanted to verify whether it was mine. Fortunately, it wasn't but it belonged to someone I knew. So I witnessed first hand how Sirus and the security personnel dealt with the situation. Through the CCTV footage from the carpark, they managed to quickly find the perpetrator and hold him accountable. For this, I would like to applaud all staff involved for their swift action. With its competitive rates and wonderful service, and once all renovations are complete, I'm sure Armada will give the other hotels in the vicinity a run for their money.
