A perfect base from which to see all the delights Rome has to offer. The hotel is on a quiet side street off the Piazza Barbarini. It has been recently and lavishly refurbished and is a peaceful and comfortable sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Our arrival in Rome began with a disaster, turning up at the wrong hotel and arguing with a rather insistent Italian lady that I had a reservation. On discovering my mistake she telephoned the Barocco who immediately sent over two staff members to escort us and our luggage to the correct hotel. Our room was ready as soon as we had registered (12.30 pm) and although small by some standards was beautifully furnished with a lovely marble en suite bath/showerroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Breakfast was excellent and was a mixture of a wide choice of buffet items and waitress served eggs and hot drinks. The ambience in the breakfast room was particularly relaxing. The location was brilliant for all the major attractions and as long as you are reasonably fit you can walk everywhere. Trevi fountain 6mins, Spanish steps 6mins, Pantheon 15 mins, Colloseum and forum 40 mins, Vatican 60mins. We would definitely stay again.

We has a wonderful time staying at this hotel for our honeymoon. We requested an upgrade to the room with a balcony, which helped make our stay at Hotel Borocco especially memorable. The shower in the bathroom was particularly amazing with a huge ceiling based shower head that "made it rain". The balcony was also nice to go out for a great a view of the Triton fountain in the Piazza Barberini. Would definitely go here again as the location was great and staff helped this hotel stand out as a favorite of our honeymoon trip to Italy.

Great Location and the Quality

The hotel is perfectly located next to Piazza Barberini where you can get to the subway or get a taxi. It's within walking distance from many historic sites such as Spanish Steps, Fountain Trevi, etc. The room that we had was spacious with all the amenities that you expect from this type of hotel including slippers and bath robes. The staff is very accomodating, and helpful in many ways. The windows in the room are of a very good quality because when they are closed, you don't hear any noise coming from the piazza; try opening them, and you will see for yourself what a great noise-canceling job they are doing. The hotel provides free wi-fi, and it was working fine in the lobby and in our room. The breakfast buffet was excellent, probably the best one among all the hotels we stayed in during our trip. They have great selections of meat, cheese, fruits (ripe and delicious), veggies, fresh juices, sweets, etc. You can also ask them to make you eggs any style, or anything else that they have in the menu (you don't pay extra for this). The cappuccino they make for you is of a very good quality so definitely get it in the morning. if you're not into cappuccino or coffee, then they have variety of tea bags you can pick from. If you're looking for a great place to have lunch or dinner, I highly recommend visiting Osteria Barberini, which is a block away from the entrance to the hotel (when you exit the hotel, turn left and go uphill). At the hotel they always recommend 2 places: Trattoria Tritoni and Crispi19. Avoid "Crispi 19" at all cost.

All in all great place to stay. Upgraded to junior suite at very reasonable price. Lovely room. Being a boutique hotel rooms and public areas are smaller.
