Nice but expensive and far from places

Matterhorn view
The hotel is far from train station and up on the hill in the opposite direction to town. Luckily that we managed to store our big baggages somewhere else. The hotel has an electric car but 3.50 fr per person will be charged even to hotel guests. We booked an ensuited room but finally moved to another room having Matterhorn view but no toilet at the same price because the first one looked old and not as comfy as the 'no toilet' one. Although we realized that hotels in Zermatt are expensive, we considered this one is in the high side. The room is small but in soft tone and we could see Matterhorn from our window which was very nice. Breakfast was good and lady owner is nice.
Hotel Feature Tip: Room with Matterhorn view

Great Service with a personal touch

Great Service and Clean Rooms
We stayed at the Hotel Blauherd for 2 night in January. Hotel Blauherd is a family ran Hotel and the owners made sure the guest felt at home. Breakfast was great with a wide selection of breads, cheeses and hams. Eggs were made to order. Rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is location outside of the main streets of Zermatt. Up a long slope, it would be difficult to walk to if you are carrying heavy luggage. The hotel has a electric car which you can request for them to drop you off at the train station.
Restaurant Tip: There is a take-away pizza restaurant just down the slope from the hotel, ran by a guy who looks a little like Super Mario. For CHF 15 a pizza, it is good value in a town where food is generally pricy.
