no fuss and convenient hotel for sight-seeing

inexpensive, clean, comfortable and well located
The hotel room was small, clean, and sparsely furnished. While I would not want to spend much time in the room, aside from sleeping and grooming, it was conveniently located for touristing about town. I value comfortable beds and high pressure showers, this hotel did not dissappoint. I liked that the hotel lobby was stocked with water bottles, snacks, and coffee-on-demand for most of the day. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Great location and helpful staff

Location; friendly, helpful staff; well priced
When staying in Barcelona you want to be close to Las Ramblas and the Gothic quarter without necasserily being right in it. This hotel is one street down Las Ramblas and about 300-400 metres along which is perfect. The staff were very helpful regarding how to find your way around and the hotel has plenty of tourism brochures. Free internet in the lobby helps for last minute planning too. Free water, tea and coffee 24 hours/day is a great add-on service. I have read previous posts regarding thin walls and therefore being noisy and I agree this can be an issue if you have a noisy neighbour, but we encountered no external noise as it is nearby but not right in the "action". Very enjoyable stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Do the Fat-tire bike tour. Pick it up at Playa de Jaume (easy to find. Its a great way to see the city in a relaxed way and meet fellow travellers at the same time.

Hotel in a great location

Hotel was right in the center of the old city - we walked everywhere. It was excellent fine for our purposes
The hotel is new and the rooms are furnished very simply - no refrigerator, no chest of drawers, but there was a safe we could use. Still, it served our purposes. The service was excellent. The roof terrace could use a table with umbrella and seating, as well as small tables between the lounge chairs. I would especially recommend Ciutat Viella to young travelers, as it is in the university area.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Make sure to take a Gaudi tour, and make sure it includes Park Guell and Casa Battlo. We fell in love with his work. Also, of course, make sure you get to the water. It is Barcelona, after all.

Great Location

we stayed at the hotel with a friend of mıne for 3 nights. i would go there again and recommend to anyone. the location ıs great, staff are very helpful, breakfast was good and not overpriced. having water and coffee at the lobby all the time is quiet good. elevators were quiet slow and sometimes broken but that wasn't a big deal.

Nice hotel wit wifi and breakfast buffé

Nice interior design, clean bathroom, jaccuzi on roof terrace and helpful staff
great for an extended weekend in barcelona in a calm street though the rambla and plaza cataluna is just around the corner. easy to reach touristic sites as there is bus and metro stops very nearby. we had nice dinners at restaurants just a few blocks down.
Restaurant Tip: Have tapas at Bar Lobo just two streets down or excellent dinner at Shoko, japanese restaurant in Barceloneta near Hospital del mar.

nice interior & location

the location is very good, near metro & access to the main street for abt 5 minutes
u can take free bottles of water...save money to buy water in Europe... this makes us very impressive. But the wifi is very bad indeed, we can only access to wifi on the 1st day, for the rest of 4 day, no or very weak wifi in our room. We can just hv wifi in the lobby. We told the staff but she just said she hadn't received any complaints about this.
