4 days in Rome

the staff was friendly and helpful 90%of the time. breakfast was good. location was great for historc sites.
My stay at Hotel Dogs was overall good. The room was smaller than I had expected. The air unit was hard to figure out. There was a hairdryer in the room. No American plug adapters. The sink was old so if you barely turned it on your stuff sitting on the sink would get wet. If you turned it on too high you would get soaked. The shower was small. Amazing location if you are planning to walk to the trevi fountain or Spanish steps. Not far from other sites. We bought the Roma pass and used the busses a lot. Bus #62 run past most places we we went to. Used it 2 days straight. Be aware tho #62 stops for breaks a lot at the same stop near the Vatican city. Got on several times and ended up waiting at that same stop. Food is good in the surrounding area of the hotel. There are some souvenir shops and gelato shops on the street near the hotel. The elevator is small. Large enough only for one person and one large luggage bag. There are lots of stairs. You have to go up the stairs to get to the lobby. Its an interesting place for sure. I would recommend anyone stay here if you are young and want a place in a good location for a great price. If you are looking for comfort you may want to keep looking.

good position

position was good, city tax is double the price that was quoted and double the price around the rest of Italy. 2 Euro is the norm Doge charged 4 Euro. We are prepared for most things, but for the price you pay, you would like a little extra - a good breakfast

Great location but small room and poor bathroom

Great location an easy access to public transport and near those attractions

Basic hotel, just about adequate

Location nothing else
Room was ok. However, shower was tiny and took a couple of minutes to get hot, by that time the tray was full of water. This took another couple of minutes to go. furniture was poor quality. No wifi on fourth floor. Hotel staff knew but did not bother to fix. I did not use the lift as it looked like it would fall away from the outside wall at any moment. Staff were ok if a little unfriendly. If you are on a budget it is ok. You get what you pay for and this is a cheap hotel in a good location.

good location spoiled by poor service

location to attractions & transport
Finding the reception is confusing because hotel is 2 hotels and directions relate to Hotel Firenze Out of hours staff have poor english - no help. Also International incoming calls were not managed just refused (2 separate days). Day staff helpful Room and shower OK. Free WiFi only works in reception foyer or stairwell.

a good location let down by some poor service

location and not much else
Finding the reception is very confusing because it's under the name of Firenze hotel Out of hours staff have no English language; checking in was difficult; international phone calls were not put through to room (2 days attempting) The Internet only works if the foyer or in the stairwell on your floor. Breakfast is below European average
