Absolutely fantastic. Would not stay anywhere else

Staff friendliness. great breakfast, amazing location

This is arguably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at while travelling through Europe. Upon check-in, the staff (which consists of a single gentleman who appears to run the place by himself) gave us a free city map and discount card and then proceeded to circle all the major attractions (frite museum, chocolate museum and brewery) on the map. He told us not to use public transit because there is no point, it is just a walking city and was incredibly helpful. The breakfast is included and is of a great variety and quality, fresh fruit and yogurt daily with a wide continental breakfast selection. The location is about a 10 minute walk from the train station, maybe 5 minutes to the city center and is located very close to a restaurant district as well. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it was absolutely amazing. The room was huge, with a sitting area, queen bed, bathroom, and three windows that overlook a river and street. It is quiet, very family-oriented and is safe as well. Wifi was excellent and there was an elevator for luggage as well. Gentleman who runs the property also offers to keep your luggage after you check-out if you want to explore the city for an additional day (which we did) and does not charge you any extra to do so. Great experience.

Quiet Hotel in Beautiful Location

Quiet, location and staff
8.3
This hotel is in an excellent location that allows easy walking to the sites of Brugge. It is a 15-20 minute walk from the train station and due to its Great location a little hard to find. It was one of the quietest hotels we have ever stayed in. The hotel manager was very friendly and helpful the breakfast was quite good. The only negative was the rooms do not have televisions. Brugge doesn't have much of nightlife so a Television could be useful. There is. A television lounge but that is of limited value.

Old, worn out hotel but great service

close to the main shopping area, always very friendly service, nice breakfast

this hotel is clearly old and needs renovation. however it managed to preserve the spirit of old flemish culture. it is definitely not for lovers of standardised perfect hotels but rather for the admirers of the country's traditions and culture ready to sacrifice modern comforts of having a perfectly clean brand new showers etc. we were given all the support we needed and felt taken care of by the staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Brugge is the nicest town I have ever visited so far. Make sure you make the most of its guided tours and boat tours.

Lovely hotel in a relatively good location

Locate in one quiet corner of Brugge and the places of interest

Quaint hotel with good breakfast. Room was clean though small. The bathroom light was not working when we stayed there, however we did not report as we could still manage to use it without the bathroom light. Most importantly there is hot water for shower and we could take our shower comfortably. The hotel is equipped with an elevator, thus it's easy for us with heavy luggage.

Cramped & shabby

None

Whole hotel was about 100 years behind times, room was cramped & could not even get cat in bathroom let alone swing it. Breakfast was adequate but bit of a treasure hunt to find in all cupboards etc. Reception very surly 7 unhelpful. On whole, would not recommend at all & very disappointed.

Simple hotel with great view of Brugge

good view outside; a few minutes walk away from the center; good and filling breakfast; nice service
8.7
our view outside our balcony was lovely. our double room was simple, not the feel of a new hotel, but it had a simple and classic touch. it was about 15-20 minute walk away from the train station and about 10 minute walk away from the markt and 5 minute walk away from the tourist information centre which is quite helpful. they don't rent bicycles anymore but there are a lot of bicycle rentals around, one is near the tourist information centre. they have wifi which has a very poor quality unfortunately. their breakfast was nice and filling and the coffee was great .they were serving different types of tea. other food in the breakfast included 3 types of bread, pancake, hard boiled egg, different types of spread, ham, salami, cheese, orange juice, milk, 3 types of cereal, yoghurt. the hotel is family-run, they were quite helpful and accommodating as well. the price isn't expensive at all as compared to other hotels in brugge, and our stay was worth the price.

The bathroom really could do with an over haul...and a bath mat would have been appreciated.

bad hotel, not clean and poor service

the only good thing that can be told about the hotel is their breakfast, and even that wasn't that good
3.7
the hotel is dirty, and the service is poor. we ask for babycote and the manager made us a favor and gave one, even thou we requested it at the booking, and got an e-mail from the hotel saying its ok. the bathroom is dirty old and not clean. they promissed free car parking but we had to pay extra 20euro for it.
Travel tip: don't syay over night in bruge, there is nothing really worth it.

I stayed with my mother for 2 nights. We found the hotel very easily and the greeting at reception was good. We were on the 2nd floor and to get to our room from the lift meant going down about 5 steps then up about 5 steps - not good if you have mobility problems. The room was fine, we liked the table and chairs. The heating was very good and the beds comfy. We didn't like the pull back door to the bathroom as was difficult to operate. The hand held shower was in a bath that had a high step up to it. My mother just about managed it. Breakfast was OK - buffet included orange juice, tea and coffee, cereals, pancakes, hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese, rolls, bread for toast etc it was a shame that the lift broke on our 2nd day as 2 flights of stairs was difficult for my mother. Anyone staying at this hotel should be aware that not the best if have reduced mobilty, otherwise good choice for location and price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Tourist Information is located the other end of the square
