Affordable hotel right beside Guia Tower

Walking distance to Guia Tower
hotel guia is a one of the most affordable hotel with a spacious room and basic necessities. although it is quite a distance from the macau city, it provides free shuttle bus (only) from the hotel to almost any part of macau, even the ferry terminal and the transit point to zhuhai, china. the best part of our stay is when we walked to guia tower in the morning and have some pleasant surprises. first we found ourselves at one of the highest point of macau overlooking the city and fresh, cool wind on our faces in summer, then we found a short tunnel which opens from 10am with scary-looking soldier manikins inside. furthermore, when we explore the hill a little more, we found a cable car service which cost only around per person to ride, and takes us to the bottom of the hill, a place 10 minutes walking distance away from the city! this is certainly an unique experience not to be missed in macau!

Nice new hotel close to central Macau

Nice new rooms, and friendly staff
Stayed only one night, but service was good. They also have a free shuttle bus to the ferry terminal.

Quiet location
It was my first trip to Macau and I would like to recommend this hotel as one of the best option for budget travellers. The hotel located at a quiet location and the room was kept in a tip top condition and at any time the housekeeping staff will make up the room. It´s located within walking distance to the the touristic attraction. Cabs are pretty cheap in Macau. There are reasonable price restaurants and convenience shop within walking minutes away from the hotel.

Hotel by the Lighthouse

i stayed on the highest floor with a balcony that looks up to the lighthouse!!! was great! for those who like a morning exercise, you can join the many macau-locals to hike up the hill. june mornings were abit rainy though, so if you are thinking of coming in june, pack your brolly. one thing to take note of: they charge for the mineral water & coffee!!!!!! so beware, check first!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: June mornings were abit rainy though, so if you are thinking of coming in June, pack your brolly.

Nice hotel but location wasn't good

Free wifi and nice view from hotel
The hotel was generally ok except that the receptionist on night duty wasn't well-trained. There wasn't any free shuttle service from ferry terminal to hotel which is a great disappointment as most hotels in Macau have free shuttle. As the hotel is situated on a slope, it maybe quite tiring to walk back to hotel. I will not stay in this hotel anymore as there are better deals.
Travel tip: Provide free shuttle from hotel to ferry terminal but do remember to check and book the bus as timing changes without notice.

We will keep staying here

We like the seaview/balcony rooms, Shuttle bus, clean & fresh
This is good for us when visiting family nearby. Book with Agoda for best price. Guia is still clean and fresh after its refirbishment a couple of years ago. They even shuttled us to our dinner venue when no taxi was available. Well done Guia.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Take the walk up to the lighthouse and area around it.It is well worth investigating. Then take the shortest cable ride down to the gardens where the locals gather/excercise & socialize.

Not bad, but...

Room was cheap
the shuttle bus never came when i called to pick me up at the ferry terminal. so i had to take a taxi to the hotel. you must leave a deposit at front desk of 500hkd (or mop) upon check-in, so make sure they notate which currency you give, because on my slip they circled both, even when i gave them hkd and it took talking to 4 different people there to get the story straight. there is a casino shuttle offered, but it doesn`t run nearly as frequent. the bed(s) are uncomfortable. it felt like i was sleeping on a raw boxspring with no mattress or that the mattress was made of concrete. and the room refresh left something to be desired. also, minibar was not stocked at all, and there was no room service menu in my room to even look at. the location of the hotel is a plus for its vicinity to the ferry terminal. but after walking around most of macau on foot, i would say it`s not necessary. the biggest `issue` with this hotel is that while it may seem fine on a map, it is a bit out of the way in terms of civilization. sure, the taxis are all really cheap in macau, but i don`t want to have to take a taxi or walk for 30 minutes just to get something to eat, especially later in the evening when all the local stuff is closing for the night. it`s not a bad hotel and definitely worth looking into for the budget traveler. i would suggest comparing and finding something a bit more `centralized` i.e. south of this location.

Good location with helpful friendly staff

Clean, tidy, friendly helpful staff, and tucked away from the hustle and bustle but easily accessible
the hotel is up a bit of a hill, but easily accessible, with taxis readily available, or the staff ready to call you one. cheap taxi ride to any of the casinos, eg approx $4 aussie to the sands area or $8 over to the venetian area.the hotel restaurant had good food at a reasonable price, with 10% off if you show your room key.there was also a courtesy bus to the ferries and possibly other casinos. all in all a very pleasant stay with friendly staff at a fair price. would recommend to others and would stay there again.
Hotel Feature Tip: The Hotel only has one iron, which can be booked out to other rooms, so dont leave your ironing to the last minute and expect to be on time.
