We enjoyed our stay very much. Nepal can be exhausting and it was always great to return to the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the Himalaya Hotel

Problem after problem...
Beautiful gardens, nice pool, contemporary decor
The hotel definitely has the 'wow' factor when you enter and is beautifully decorated. But during our stay the problems were just one thing after another. 1. The wifi doesn't work most of the time. You have to pay extra for it too. 2. Laundry turned all whites yellow and gave our daughter a rash. They said it's not their fault as it's outsourced but gave us a meager 15% discount. 3. My wife contracted cholera at the hotel. They insist that she got it from outside the hotel, but we only got food and beverages from hotel... trying to play it safe. 4. AC units have not been cleaned in a very long time, leaving us all congested. We left ours off. 5. They would call our room at odd times to give us very unnecessary messages. Finally unplugged the phone. 6. Water pressure is low and not much hot water. We were there during the fuel crisis, so understandable. It's a lovely hotel with lots of potential, but obviously service is seriously lacking.

It was alright and since we were there on a business trip, we were not really able to explore what other services they can offer.

The quiet of the Himalayas in the house
location, lobby, staff
Pleasant, cost-effective, quiet, memorable. There was no buzz from the city and the soul got its nourishment from the nicely kept ambiance. The days were clean and tidy; the nights full of slumber and stars and the shadows of the chilled forests.

Rewarding
Cleanliness, bar, mountainview
I stayed for only 2 nights. It was a restful experience. The TV remote had problems that could not be fixed promptly. We were three so a single room and a double would have been adequate but through Agoda I had no option but to book 2 double rooms. This could be improved by Agoda.
