Fine for a night

wi fi, hot shower, price
Neat/clean, and the wi fi strong/the shower hottt, but as mentioned before not in the best of areas safety wise. Just minutes from Arcos de Lapa and Selaron Steps though! Several towels were supplied, but only a sheet - no blanket/duvet. Not that the latter was a problem, as the weather was warm and I actually had to make use of the (noisy!) aircon. As mentioned before, the rooms are poorly lit (and I usually prefer dim lighting - that says a lot!), and I definitely didn't like the motion sensor bathroom light. The receptionist didn't really speak English, but was friendly/helpful despite the language barrier. No mention of breakfast though, and I didn't ask, consequently didn't have it. There is a sushi place around the corner (3mins from the hotel) - I didn't try it, but thought it's worth mentioning.

Small rooms in a sketchy area.

ok breakfast, nice bed, ok internet...
The value for the money is not that good. As everything in Rio, it's expensive. The rooms are small and a bit claustrophobic. Lapa is alittle sketchy in the nighttime, and when you see the reception looking like a prison cell, you'll understand why. The staff didn't speak english at all. Breakfast was okey.

Dim but clean rooms

Location to Lapa steps
Room was clean but a little poorly lit, bathroom was clean. The staff's ability to speak english was poor, but expected of a budget hotel in Rio. Lapa nightlife and steps less than 5 minutes away,. Close to bus stops.

an adult hotel, staff customer-oriented

close to nighlife, staff customer-oriented
an adult hotel, equipped this way, quite sophisticated, all is possible to control via built-in buttons, tv, radio, fan, lights. very intimate, and made to create an atmosphere (and it succeeds to do so). a marble built-in-wall table, which does not have to serve only for breakfast which was very good, brought into room on a wide tray. i felt good, even corridors create a good atmosphere. special thanks to one male staff member, which was called to participate in a 'dispute' between guest and 'customer' from nightlife out there. i guess he knew what's about and kept professional manner all the time and was able to solve it, without need for escalation. very handy! despite some portuguese-english language barrier, was doing best to do best.
