Don't come here...

view from the roof top
I don't normally set up accounts to say negatives things about hotels places but thought i should to warn the rest to save you the trouble if you were thinking of staying here. I initially booked the place because the reviews seemed okay and i needed to find a place near the airport So i was not picked up from the airport as promised although i emailed them few days earlier to remind them. So I had to call them and they said no one was there to pick me up with no apologises so i got a taxi driver to speak to them to ensure they will pick up the bill for the ride and to agree on the price Making our way there was a really bumpy ride off the main road .. so bumpy that the taxi stopped 3/4 of the way. Bear in mind this was late at night... we had to hop off the taxi and walk the rest of the way in the night on the muddy track. The guy from the hotel came out and ask us to pay the taxi driver first cos he didn't have the money on him and agreed they will refund me later. (it should not cost more than half of this.. i rekon they made some agreement on the phone and got a cut from this) In terms of the room, cleaniness and food was below average. I only liked the view from the roof top in the morning. In my two week stay in Nepal, this was the worst hotel with the worst service.

A Great, Family Owned and Operated, Budget Hotel

The view, the attentive friendly staff, the authentic, homemade Nepalese food
This family run hotel sits on an escarpment overlooking the Manohara River. The view of the airport and the garden plots down by the river is excellent. The staff has been suburb. They make a real effort to fulfill every request. The breakfast is simple, but a good start for the day. No restaurant as such but the staff can arrange for and serve top notch authentic Nepalese food. A wonderful budget hotel.

Clean room, helpful staff

The Staff, The Staff and The Staff
Finding the Hotel is very difficult even by taxi... I had to walk through a field in the dark with a taxi driver who was less than friendly.. And carrying luggage. However the staff are exceptionally good, welcoming , friendly and most considerate.

Small and friendly family run hotel with great sta

1. My room was a good size. 2. The bed was comfortable. 3. The staff were excellent
The staff at this hotel were exceptionally good. I was pleasantly surprised at. How quiet it was in comparison to hotels in Kathmandu. The hotel does not have a kitchen however they serve very tasty Dhal Bhatt and omelettes. The hotel is about fifteen minute taxi drive from the airport (500) NRP This hotel is above average for the price. I am staying there agaiin on my return from Bangkok. Enjoyd my one night stay there very much.

Authentic house near the airport

Friendly, near the airport, rooftop views
Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms with wooden furniture, nice lounge areas and a really nice rooftop balcony looking over Kathmandu where you can watch the planes land and take off at the airport. It is actually a big house and feels more like that than a hotel. It is far from the centre of Kathmandu (good if you want to avoid Thamel) 15 minutes by taxi from the airport (Rs 600) but not too far from Patan or Bhaktapur. They'll make you some nice daal bhaat (lentils and rice) for dinner if you ask - cheap and good. Nice, relatively simple set breakfast. The hotel is located in an upper middle class neighbourhood with no other hotels or tourist attractions nearby which I appreciated as you can see how the locals live - 5-10 minutes walk to shops if you need anything.

Trevligt hotell

Lugnt läge
Nice hotel in a quiet area. The personell was alert and service minded. The breakfast and meals where very good. Internet worked well despite som troubles with the hardware. They have no generator and since it is power break 8 hours a day it may be a problem, the internet is however working all the time. There is no air condition and the rooms can be very hot.
