I wanted to see Tokyo

Luxurious, friendly, excellent food
Great! The staff was friendly and efficient. The bar and restaurants are first rate. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with all of the amenities one would expect. The bathroom and especially the shower were to coolest, most luxurious I've ever seen. The hotel is within walking distance of two different subway lines and a couple of main thoroughfares and yet it was very quiet at night. Be sure to check out the Okura Art Museum on the grounds.

Classic Tokyo Hotel

Good location nice size room
if you are not taking taxis i would not recommend this location. overall very nice. a bit outdated but i found an appeal in the age of the hotel. clean well appointed room and great staff. location is central and really for the luxury of the hotel the walking distance by tokyo standards is not bad. numerous metro stops are a relatively short walking distance.

A Real Japanese Hotel

Staff Attitude
Hotel Okura is really Japanese. While the hotel rooms are not in Japanese style, the appearance of the building as well as the staff inside the building are quite Japanese. I particularly like the attitude shown by the staff which is extremely polite. Overall, Hotel Okura lives up to the 5-star standard. On the other hand, the hotel is a bit old and not so close to a subway station (though still walkable to the Kamiyacho Station of Hibiya Line and the Toranomon Station of Ginza Line). Considering my pleasant experience of the stay, I shall be there again in my next visit to Japan.
Nightlife Tip: Hop on Hibiya Line to Roppongi for clubs and bars, only one stop away.

Consistent high-quality service

This quiet and understated elegant hotel is situated near the American Embassy, within an easy walk to good restaurants, convenience stores and several subway lines. Staff speak English, there are excellent restaurants within the hotel and a fine bookstore with a great selection of English title books. From this oasis one can begin to explore the wonders of Japan.
it was 6 months after the march earthquake and early september is hot and humid. tokyo is still conserving power. at times the hotel was required to reduce the air-conditioning. they provided a notification for this. regardless the room remained comfortable. the size of the room was very adequate with room for a comfortable chair and small table. bed and pillows very comfortable and towels thick and plentiful. my choice of newspaper was delivered very early in the morning. the room was always cleaned around my schedule. i received two great lomi-lomi massages from mayumi-san who spoke english. by going through agoda i was able to afford this room for 7 days.

Aging top hotel

don't get me wrong the hotel is clean, well maintained, the carpets are new and extremely thick... but last time i saw some similar designs were in movies of the 60's. definitely cannot compare with the international chains but in some weird way has some limited charm. At the right price, i would go back...

a comfortable stay in the good location

great service and clean comfortable room, good value
Good service, quiet location, 10 min. walk to subway. Still a good value.
Travel tip: Trendy great restaurant "Nobu " is just next door.

Hotel Okura, Tokyo

Japanese character, good location
I have always enjoyed a stay in the Hotel Okura. It's situated in a very central location, but is set back off the major streets so it has a somewhat residential feel. While the hotel is luxurious and comfortable, the decor and some of the amenities are a bit dated compared to what you might get in a newer "luxury" hotel. However, if you enjoy a bit of a retro vibe, as well as a strong Japanese influence to the International theme, this is the place for you. Personally I think the Okura has a lot of character and always feel comfortable when I am there.
Shopping Tip: There is a good shopping arcade in the basement, including a branch of Kyoto's Yojiya cosmetics

Comfortable good service. Good value
Still 5 star services in spite the hotel is getting little old but upgraded rooms are just very nice.
