Situated in the southern part of the capital and near the Vicente Calderon Stadium, the 420 rooms in this massive structure are a great value. The beds are large, the rooms have been renovated, and the marble bathrooms are very luxurious. Walking to a wide variety of tapas bars is very easy to accomplish right out the door, and the El Puente Restaurant located on-site should not be ignored as there is an extensive variety of Mediterranean and international dishes available. Forget about cabs here if seeking the historical center of town because the metro is just a five-minute walk down the street. Overall this hotel is a great value given the amicable nature of the staff, the proximity to attractions, and the affordable luxury of the rooms in general. Basic Hotel, good location

Lovely riverside walk at back of hotel
This hotel is 10 min from Plaza Mayor taking no 23 bus, but we walked its a straight route and takes 25min. The metro station is 10min from hotel and is easy to use, great for further away attractions. Hotel is basic but very clean, breakfast has something for everyone 8euros each, we only ate there twice,as there are plenty cafe type places for breakfast in area. However there is nothing much in area for nice meal at night only one nice restaurant (Ovido I think it was called) fantastic food! hotel restaurant/bar no atmosphere at all.All hotel staff spoke english but as it is a residential area bars, shops etc speak only spanish. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would maybe go nearer night life next time.

Public transportation nearby

Bus stop in front of the hotel that will take you directly to Plaza Mayor and the Metro is about 3 blocks from the hotel.
Small restaurants or "bars" nearby that open early and offer nice breakfasts. The rooms are "acceptable", but I wouldn't rate them as ****, as they are rated, more like a ***. No free Internet, but an Internet café is available in the street in front of the hotel for 1 euro/hr with printing also available. The hotel charges 4 euros/day and you need your laptop/smartphone. The hotel is not near any landmarks or interesting places, but public transportation is within a short walk.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: While n Madrid, you can book one day tours to several places such as El Escorial, Avila and Segovia, etc. ans well as the "hop on, hop off" bus in Madrid, which I recommend as a cheap and easy way to get to the most important places in Madrid. You can book them online and take the Metro or bus from the hotel to their departing site.

good hotel

easy access to city centre by bus or metro
nice hotel in residential area, quiet and secure. bus stops directly outside hotel door will take you to city centre, plaza mayor in 10 minutes for 1.50. taxi from citycentre is approx 9 euro. hotel clean, staff friendly, good sized room with air conditioning. a few local places to eat but we preferred to head into city centre.

Great location near many eateries, shops, buses

Good location. Good price for the hotel
thought the hotel staff looked professional , there was no friendliness at all. when we were checking in and checking out we needed help to bring the luggage to the lobby. when my husband asked the front office for assistance, their reply was they did not have enough staff to bring down our luggage. and it was communicated in a very unfriendly tone as though they are not obligated to provide the service. the service at the restaurant was very slow too. the location was excellent with convient stores and transportation nearby. the park beside was very beautiful. the room was very spacious.

Very Good hotel

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Very Good

Cheap, solid big hotel

cheap, speaks English
It's a big hotel next to a main road. If you travel with car or taxi the hotel's location is great, the location is good. The nearest Metro station is 10 minutes walk away so you can get in the center in 40 minutes. The downside is that you can't be sure you'll get a quiet room. Fortunately we didn't get street-side windows but the interior walls were thin so you can hear every word from your neighbors.

What's nearby? / Directions

Very well connected with the city centre and the airport on the M30. Once on the M30 take the “Marques del Vadillo- Plaza de Pirámides” exit and then once on the roundabout , take the fourth exit onto Antonio Lopez street. The hotel is on your left after 500 meters.
