Fryslân boppe!

Good, easy, cheap
Booked the hotel for 1 night, spur of the moment. Drove to Earnewald, upon arrival friendly staff recommended 10 Euro upgrade to river view room, which was worth it. Good breakfast. Enjoyable stay.

Gemiste kans als schaatshotel

Dichtbij prachtige ijsvlaktes.
Ben hier naar toe gegaan om een middag te schaatsen op de nabij gelegen bevroren ondiepe polders, de Jan Durkspolder. Fantastisch zwart ijs. Het hotel zelf vond ik een gemiste kans. Dat je van zo'n mooie lokatie zo weinig weet te maken. Ik weet niet hoe het hier in de zomer is, maar van meer dan de lokatie moet dit hotel het niet hebben. Magere maaltijden, stinkende kamers, vergane glorie, ouwe zooi. Misschien komen de inkomsten inde zomer te makkelijk binnen, maar wat een gemiste kans ...
