good location, tiny (smelly) room

location although no nice places to eat or drink in the immediate area
A friend and I booked double rooms listed as "for single use". They were clearly small single rooms and smelt a bit off. Breakfast was pretty sub standard - grey tinged scrambled eggs and wet looking bacon. I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

A no fuss four days in beautiful Porto

comforr, convenience and friendliness
The hotel is roughly 100m from the Redes bus station (bus from Evora). We asked to be moved from a smaller back room with balcony to a larger room on the 5th floor facing the plaza. It was a good move. The room was excellent with a good view of the square. A barking dog and a quarrel between two homeless men disturbed us on the first night but was not a problem during the following cold rainy three nights. Pity the homeless in Portugal! The reception staff were consistently helpful and polite and helped make our stay most enjoyable. Note: try the upstairs restaurant at the chicken shop 30 m right of exitting the hotel. Downstairs looks ordinary but upstairs (same menu) is very good.

My stay in this hotel is good.

It is centrally located on one of the best shopping street in Porto (Rua de Santa Catarina). It is near metro station (5 minutes walk). It is near the Riberia area for sight seeing (15 minutes walk)
We are a couples with a young children. Although the room is quite small. But they manage to prepare a double bed with an extra sofa bed (withou extra charge). This is good for us. Overall the stay here is comfortable. The hotel also is easy from airport by direct line from metro which is convenient for us.

A great place for a city break in Porto

Location, comfort, friendly staff.
This is a great hotel for a city break in Porto. It is centrally located with all sights, attractions, theatres and such within walking distance, but still quite peaceful- surprisingly so given the comings and goings in the square opposite! Our room was clean and comfortable and had a view over the city to distant hills. The staff were very friendly and helpful (especially when I needed to find a dentist) and the breakfast buffet was very good. Our only problem was with parking: the garage normally providing the hotel parking is not open Sunday, so we had to park elsewhere, which was quite expensive, then had quite a job finding negotiating the one-way system to the cheaper, usual parking on Monday morning.

Nice hotel but no free wifi and on top of hill

Near main shopping street and small restaurants, beautiful view of church in the evening, clean rooms, seagulls flying around just outside the hotel
my friend and i liked the hotel. however, if you are carrying heavy luggage and going by metro, we recommend that you alight at the metro bolhão. although sao bento is supposed to be nearer metro, you need to climb a steep uphill slope. that was a challenge for my friend and i. when we departed from the hotel, we walked to the metro bolhão, which was about 10-15mins walk. the best part is that you will be walking along the shopping street and can get some last minute shopping done.

Quality Inn Batalha Hotel,

The location is very good. It is close to the sightseeing spots and restaurants. But don't expect too much from the reception staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The train station is just 5 to 10 minutes walk away from the hotel.
