Dingy and uncomfortable

It is an unacceptable standard of cleanliness and no maintenance. The manager, who was friendly and tried to be helpful, provided us a slightly better room after we complained, however it was barely better. One thing we are grateful for is that they waited up for us to check in. Our Tain was two hours late and we didn't arrive until midnight.

The good, the bad and the ugly

I'll start off by getting the negatives out of the way, the hotel, although cleanish had a really run down dilapidated feel to it the whole place could do with being repainted and renovated. My bed was not particularly comfortable, although not the worst I've had in India, the A/C was ancient and really loud, meaning that I couldn't sleep with it turned on. The room was an OK size but only had one tiny window with a lovely view of a wall about three meters away, and nothing else! The lack of light gave the room a prison cell quality, which wasn't helped by the awful plumbing in the bathroom- probably the worst shower I've ever had! The food was good but nothing special, about the right price for what it was though. The staff were fine, friendly but not overbearing, if a little slow off the mark. On to the positives- the location was great, right on the edge of the pink city's teeming bazaars, a great place for shopping- although be careful, the traders are pretty 'sharp' to say the least- and there are 1001 scams waiting to take in the unwary. Ten minutes walk to some of the city's beat attractions, Juntar Mantar, City Palace, Hwa Mihal, and others- could save you a fortune in rickshaw fares! If you plan to be out sightseeing all day and just need a place to crash, go for it, if you are going to be spending any time in the hotel, there are better places on offer.

Decent hotel for the price in a good location

location, staff, large room
The room was large and comfortable and most of the staff was friendly. The room was not very clean and we had to call them twice to come and clean the toilet as it was filthy. There were also a lot of small cockroaches. Their menu is very small and all veg, but the food is good and prepared quickly. The location is in the middle of a busy bazaar with lots of shopping and close to the tourist spots.

Great service and location

Location, service
Although the room was a bit dark and had small cockroaches at times, the staff at this hotel more than made up for these things (and did their best to get rid of the cockroaches!). They were very informative and helpful, making sure that we had good advice and letting us use their mobiles about our onward travel rather than making us use our non-Indian phones. The location is great, being in the heart of a bazaar in the old city and near to many attractions, restaurants and buses to Amber. The room had a good bathroom too, with a powerful hot shower.

Nice Hotel, comfortable, clean and nice staff

Clean rooms & sheets, nice staff, good bar, tasty food
Hotel was nice, no bedroom windows though so quite stuffy. Beds were wonderful, very clean and good room service. Food was very tasty and there was a bar downstairs which was comfortable. Very good location in the centre of Jaipur, really good shopping around and Hawa Mahal only a ten minute walk away. Hotel Staff are very nice and friendly, got everything we needed and arranged a (slightly over priced) taxi for us short notice. .
