Convenient location

we booked a room with a private bathroom and shower. the room was a decent size and clean but a little shabby and worn out. location is on a main road and a bar is next door, therefore it was noisy. we always bring ear plugs so it is not an issue if you have earplugs or ask for a room that is not facing the street. overall, it was ok and we had no complaints. until the next day.... upon checking out, we found we could not use our visa credit card, only an eu card or cash. not a big deal but the owner (?) was a bit gruff about it and complained he had to pay 5% for running a visa card through. luckily we had the cash with us and paid 70euros in for a 69euro bill and did not get any change back. it may be only 1 euro, but perhaps if the innkeeper had been more polite/pleasant that would have gone a long way. so we were rudely treated and lost an euro out of it. we won't be going back to this hotel.

Centrally located with much street or party noise,

Good location close to city centre.
This hotel should call itself a hostel instead. One toilet and one shower pr. floor is simply too little - plus the fact that the room in the internet ad did have a private bath could give guests the impression that there were baths with the rooms! We very specifically booked a non-smoking hotel. Maybe the other guests did not smoke, but the owner/manager smoked non-stop which we could smell in all rooms. Not a happy situation for smoke-allergists. It was also incredibly noisy on one side due to the hotel being on a major street - on the other side of the hotel we had the sound of people partying until all hours.
