Awful bathroom

good duvet, pillows
There were only two showers for the ten rooms and one was out of order. The other was poor, with poor flow and you had to climb up to use it with no grab rail or slip mat. Very unsafe. Should warn that this is not suitable for anyone with disability issues.

just a mediocre hostel with private room

Functional base

Location, location, price
This is a very basic (hostel style) hotel. They don't pretend to be anything else so this is fine but be aware that the building, furniture etc are all pretty shabby and that groups of younger travellers stay here making noise a bit of an issue. It is OK for the price but not a great place to stay.

too narrow

great location and price, bad rooms

The location and price!
The rooms are horrible, covered in what I assume is mold. The beds were also awful, however the location makes it worth it if you are on a budget. I also felt like our rooms were safe and secure. There was plenty if hot water in the shared shower.

Budget stay

Cheap, for London. Within easy reach of theatres, siteseeing venues and public transport. Friendly staff.
Great location - on the Strand, near Somerset House & on the edge of theatre land - could walk to most places, with tube & bus links nearby. Very basic hotel - shared use of bathrooms/showers/toilets, no tv in room. Plenty of storage space. Clean, but in need of updating aslong as that doesn't make it expensive to stay in. Only real problem was the noise - could get use to the road noise, but loud banging of doors and load voices did make sleep a bit of a problem.

Super convenient.

Nofuss and frills, clean, relatively cheap
Great. Central location. Don't go if you don't want to share bathroom, or will be upset about carrying your bag up five floors. Cheap and cheerful. I loved it.

Located in The Strand.

Good location, great staff, basic cheap hotel.
Staff were very helpful - this is a cheap hotel - very basic rooms, no tv or internet - free fast wifi in the breakfast room on the 1st floor. Basic breakfast of tea coffee, cornflakes, toast, butter and jam. But loaction superb for sightseeing, not far to walk to Covent Garden, Embankement, Trafalgar Square, Houses of Parliament etc, shopping, restaurants, pubs, theatre land all nearby in abundance. Only difficulty I found with this hotel was we was on the 4th floor, we had a lot of heavy luggage and it was a slog getting up and down the stairs as no lifts! So if you travel light, it's not a problem, if you have 69kg of luggage and a baby buggy, it's quite a workout!
