Hotel was affordable and convenient. Located right next to higashi-shinjuku it was easy to travel everywhere. Most staff spoke really good english. Rooms were tiny as mentioned below and smokers sections smelt terrible.

Way over priced
The hotel itself, without being bad is nothing close to what the brochures and pictures try to show, and it wouldn't be hard to find something better in every aspect. The room was very dissapointing, bately big enough for one person, there wasn't even enough space to open one luggage, let alone two. The staff we got to deal with was at best polite, on the checkin with clearly had the feeling we were nothing more to the clerc than cattle in his business. The location is a confortable walk to shinjuku throught the red light district and hotels. As for other customers, mainly chinese and very noisy, and not regarding for maners. In fine, the hotel was, with the discount, yet about twice as expensive as it should have been.

Hotel for smurfs
Location : the train is just beside the hotel. DO NOT get confuse with higashi sunroute and sunroute plaza. Both hotels are in shinjuku. We booked the wrong sunroute and ended up with higashi sunroute with exterior was such a disappointment. Hotel staff : smiley, helpful and nice Room standard : took the small standard rm. 2 luggages and it filled up almost the whole rm. we hardly had space to walk. So we basically hopped and jumped to get across the bed. Wanted to iron my clothes and they hv this pants- iron board in the rm. i was shocked that the iron board was coated with dust! So of cos i placed it back!! Bath rm was small, bath tub was high and the walls of bath rm had some hair stuck on it when we checked into the room. The latch beind our bed was dusty. ( we actually placed our hp, wallets on it) Overall : no more higashi sunroute. Was a disappoinment ! Yes, we wanted to upgrade but the hotel was full!

Nice Hotel
Hotel room is tidy and clean. Located right beside of the entrance Higashi Shinjuku Station, which is not operate after 12am. 20 min walking distance from Hotel to Shinjuku Station. Only 2 TV Channels available for free in the room, which encourages you to visit more places than just sitting in the room ;p The room wireless network is very unstable in the night.

Second Time Here!
Chose this hotel again as I really liked the location, just steps away from the Higashi Shinjuku station exit. There are 7-11s located nearby, and also some food places including (McDonald's included). Wi-fi works well in the rooms. Only thing was that the pillows could be better - they seemed very flat and was not very comfortable for sleeping. Overall, good value for this hotel!

We enjoyed our stay for (6) days in this Hotel Sunroute Higashi Shinjuku. The Front Desk Staff are so helpful and attentive to our needs specially Ms.Yamada and Mr. Saito who properly addressed our concerns. They process checking in and checking out quickly without any hassle. The only problem is that it is self-service for your baggages to bring to your room using the elevator. The location of this hotel is good, it's just beside Tokyo Metro Higashi Shinjuku Station and about a taxi/cab away to JR Shinjuku station. There are nearby restaurants as well as convenience stores such as Lawson and 7-11. Overall, it's a nice hotel.
