worth the money

clean room, nice staff, good location
We enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Great Wall. It is highly recommended. The room is nicer than it is shown in the pictures, very clean and quiet, with hot showers 24 hours. The hotel owner and staff are very helpful. We ended up booking a car from the hotel at reasonable price to Bhaktapur, then to Nagarkot. After staying Nagarkot for one night, the car took us to the airport. The driver is very nice too. 3 days after we came back home, the 8.1 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. We tried to contact the hotel but failed, hope everyone is fine there, and will pray for the safety of everyone in Nepal.

friendly, clean and good value
all is well unless no hot water till 11:xx pm. but when we reported to the receiption, they response quick. no hair dryer to borrow too as we arrive late and bath late.... the location is good. near the main street, walking distant with many shops and restaurant but not noisy at all. the facility is well maintained and comfortable. staff is friendly. boss provide us a well design location map and willing to provide suggestion to us even we stay for a short period only.

Kathmandu Old World Charm

The location was convenient. It was quiet as it was a bit away from the main streets. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I had a plesent stay there while I explored Thamel and the other historical and cultural sites in and around Kathmandu. The rooftop view was great and the staff were veey helpful.

The best service from staff ever

staff very helpful
The hotel boss is a super nice guy who gave us great plans for sightseeing with cheap price. He is always eager to answer questions from tourists with good language proficiency. Throughout the stay, they tried hard to offer us help in whatever aspect which we highly appreciated. He gave us a good example of how the kind=hearted Nepali looks like. Other hotel staff are also very friendly. The standard room was comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone going for traveling in Kathmandu.

Best hotel and staff service ever

clean room, very friendly and helpful staff, give you a feel of home
We were a group of university students and we stayed at Hotel The Great Wall for a month and we felt so blessed that we has chosen it. The hotel owner was so nice and provided us the most caring service, e.g. they sent us water directly instead of buying them from supermarket individually. Also, they gave us travel plan with a cheap and affordable price. We had a great time in Naragot and Bhaktapur.

OK hotel in central kathmandu

the big bed
This hotel was in a centrally located spot, but really hard to find, down an alley and in a secluded corner. It was really loud inside our room in the morning, so bring earplugs. The bed was large and comfortable. The toilet seat was not connected to the toilet which made going to the bathroom difficult. The shower has a small handheld spout that sprays water all over the bathroom. The staff was just OK, not overly friendly.

Centrally located hotel with 1-stop service

Location, Service and Service
We requested for a room with 3 single beds. Room size was reasonable. Showers were hot. Backup lights were available during power shutdown (which is common in Nepal). The hotel offered 1-stop service for everything travelers need in Nepal - excellent exchange rates, local tours, airport transfers etc. They also partner with a tour agency, so u can plan their trek at the lobby. Rates were reasonable. Best part is - u get your trek settled in the comforts of the hotel. Location wise - the hotel is located just 30sec away from the heart Thamel - bonus! - which means .. peace. Highly recommended :)
