Typical budget hotel

location, price, friendly staff
fairly simple- booked in, was asked if I wanted a hairdryer (I didn't, but it's nice to know there was an option). Told to be back before 12:30am if I went out anywhere because they lock/close the entrance between 12:30am-6am. Checked out a little before the 10am checking out time. simple. English level of the gentleman checking me in was good- good enough to tell me what I needed to know anyway. I didn't really need any more from them than their hotel related services so can't really say anything else about that. I was in a smoking room although I don't smoke [no choice due to last min nature of my booking] but the room only smelt a little musty. window in the room was a little pointless though! very dark and facing a brick wall... but as i was there to sleep the added darkness this provided was good! Bathroom was small but with the basics of what you need. as long as you're not much over 6ft you should be ok. Also provided complimentary tooth brush, razor and some soap and shampoo. very simple 'sachet' style supplies but very handy none the less.

Dirty and Smelly

There's a weird smell once we opened the door. It looks so dirty and old everywhere. A cockroach came into our room the last night :-( I even got some bleach to clean the room myself.... How sad. I'll never go back though the location is very good.

Good for japanese room

Japanese room is very big compare to other types for couple with small kitchen but there is limit time to access
It is very nice location from keisei skyliner, ueno jr and ueno metro. Only few minute from station to hotel. Moreover, ameyoko market and other attraction place is very near to hotel. However, the worst thing i ever had is time to access to hotel that allow from 6:00-24:30. Then, we have to manage time for travelling than i ever though. And some staff cannot communicate in english language but still nice to treat us
