overpriced Backpackers hostel

Prior to checking into the hotel, i called them 3 times to confirm parking was complimentary, left 3 messages nobody returned my call. on arrival i was advised it was $15.00 p/day for parking. We went to our room and the room was dirty, with human hair all over the blanket. they changed us to another room, which was not cleaned during our 3 day stay, and i even informed the front desk on numerous times and was just offered another room, no apology. i even had to go and request clean towels. the tv on the wall, was smaller than my computer monitor, the tv stations don't even broadcast in a square format, but wide screen, how old are the fittings in this hotel. this was suppose to be a family room, we were a small couple, you would hate to suffer from an phobias.would not recommend this hotel to anybody, i would classify this as an overpriced backpacker hostel

Really good.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, awesome Olympic park location
Budget hotel: you get what you pay for. But what you do get is excellent. Comfy beds, friendly staff, available parking, and a kitchen in the lobby. It's a place to park, sleep and shower for any events you're attending around Olympic park. Extremely happy with ibis budget, I will be staying there for next year's event.

Family visitor

Close to the venue where we had to attend. Lovely and helpful staff. Good value for money
Lovely stay but the room could have been cleaner, also there was no fridge and no tea and coffee facilities in room.

sports accommodation

staff were helpful regarding public transport
Unfortunately I had to pay top price as the booking was last minute, but the room was not clean . Toilet was dirty, empty bottle under bed, not vacuumed. On top of that there was no remote control for the tv. When i asked and told staff about state of the room it didn't phase them one bit. There was also no sheet on the bunk bed and my son had to sleep under a blanket. I travel a lot for sport and do not need or expect t star accommodation but do expect a clean room

Good value for somewhere to sleep

Staff were very helpful, the location of this hotel was in a quiet area of Olympic park and it was close to the bus stop
For what we needed, the Ibis Budget was good value for money. The staff were friendly and happy to assist us with any enquiries. We stayed in a family room which basic but clean.

Disappointed customer

Location and staff courtesy was the only good point
Coming from the country I was disappointed, given the price paid I feel it was not worth the $428 for 2/nights will not be recommending this to anyone.

Sleep and shower.

Proximity to venue; clean; quiet
We enjoyed our stay while at the final weekend of the Netball World Cup. It was cheap and close to the venue. It fulfilled its purpose of somewhere to shower and sleep. Our room was clean, but if I sat up in bed too quickly I risked hitting my head on the single bunk bed over the top of the queen. We took our own kettle and toaster so we didn't have to go downstairs to get a hot drink or breakfast. Apparently some upgrades are being done to put fridges and kettles in more rooms. Can highly recommend the Rumps and Ribs restaurant 5 minutes walk away.

The location
For budget accommodation we found it overpriced. We stayed 2 nights while the netball World Cup was on and paid $280 per night, even though the works cup was on this is NOT budget prices, there was no kettle to even make a coffee, no one came in to make up the room. There were no cupboards, no spare blankets or pillows.... We will not stay there again....
