Easy access to CBD. Great service and absolutely sparkling clean. We also got an upgrade without requesting it
Much better than I had anticipated for the price. So easy to walk out the door and be in walking distance to so many Melbourne highlights. Everything was in minutes of walking. Secure parking and very courteous. The room was very clean and the staff obliging. We will absolutely stay again.

Small, tired rooms

Location is all I can say.,
Location is good, but I wouldn't say the facilities match a business traveller. Pokey desk and uncomfortable chair. This hotel would suit someone who just wants a bed for the night & had no intention of coming in early or spending time in the room.

Small Room & Bad Day Make Up Rm

Location x 3
Ok standard. 1. Make up room is not well done. Cup not wash, safe is old & counter staff should have explain where to read the safe operating instruction & chair is dusty when went in. 2. Window curtain is not black out type, 6am already up affected by day light. 3. Toilet is rather small.

Business travel

Within walking distance to where I needed to go
Upon arrival I was informed that I had been "upgraded" to a room with an extra bed. Firstly as I was travelling by myself for business this did not have any value to me and in fact, mean't that there was less space in the room. Secondly, this "upgraded" room was clearly one specifically designed for elderly folks or wheelchair bound folks which meant that it was less comfortable and less luxurious. Finally, the amount of external noise coming in even with the window shut caused me difficulty in sleeping. On my second night I put the noisy air-con system on to mask the street noise. I wouldn't stay there again if that room was the only option for me.

Location, old fashioned family owned customer respect, flexibility
I have been a client of The Vic for over 20 years. I regret the modernising of the original heritage foyer, but the room upgrades are very comfortable.
