Conveniently located but lacking in several respec
Location Staff Comfortable room
The hotel is conveniently situated right alongside the night market where apart from the excellent souvenirs it is possible to have the most wonderful fruit shakes or fruit salads and good sandwiches with all sorts of fillings along with many other snacks. I have eaten in many hotels throughout Asia and I have to say this was the worst breakfast I have ever faced. The breakfast was included in my room price but even this didn’t stop me going elsewhere rather than eat what was on offer here. Eggs that had obviously been cooked a long time in advance, bread so hard it was more like a biscuit, undrinkable coffee and even the small fruit salad was unappetizing. The check-in staff were very friendly helpful and efficient and the rooms clean, roomy and comfortable but with no tea or coffee making facilities. Another surprise was that the only place to hang clothes was a strangely constructed rack which didn’t allow the clothes to hang properly but just draped across a wooden frame, there was also no place to store any clothes so they had to be left in the suitcase until required. The bathroom was quite large with a huge open plan bathroom, good shower and the usual provisions. Thankfully the WC was enclosed and separate. The hotel provided a free return airport transfer. Despite being so near the night market there was never any problem with noise however this is not the sort of hotel I would return to given the poor breakfast, lack of clothes storage or tea/coffee facilities.

A week in Luang Prabang
I thought the hotel was very good value for money and located well in relation to all of the main places of interest in Luang Prabang. Provision of free airport transfer was a particular bonus. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the accommodation was very comfortable. If I had to be critical, they could do with a handyman to fix items like loose taps and light fittings, but these are relatively minor matters. The roof terrace is a great facility as the hotel is one of the tallest buildings in the area. The noise of the night market is only a problem if you are an early sleeper, and, I thought, provides a great ambience, adding to the experience of the city.

Location, Staff, Atmosphere.
Excellent place at the start of the walking street. I've stayed in two other hotels in the town, this was by far the best. Good value for money with a modern take and feel. Good standard of rooms. The staff were all very professional and helpful, without exception from the housekeeping to the front desk. The hotel has a cafe/dining area on the ground level, which has a really good ambience, opening on to the pavement outside where you can take in the comings and goings of tourists and locals alike. There is a roof terrace which gives a good view of the street. Drinks can be taken there from the bar below. The only draw back for me was that the, 'please remove your footware' sign was ignored by many customers, causing unwelcome noise on the wooden staircase leading to the rooms. This is in no way the fault of the hotel, the notice is very clear. I will stay again.

location is good, but...
location,food,room size
I stayed here 3 nighhts. The location and food at the cafe were great!! But I had some trouble with my room. First,I thougut the room very nice, but I found that somehow water leaking from the sealing ,and no hot water runinng in bathroom! So, next day I change the room. Then there was no safety-box in the room, and water-pipe made noise all the time.I think this hotel is good location but costly and old.

Friendly staff
Location staff food
A nice hotel with friendly staff although a bizarre shower in "calm" room. As mentioned in other reviews the bracket that holds the shower hose angles the water at 90 degrees and floods the floor of the room. ( the bath is in the room not a seperate room) It would be easier to shower with a bucket of water. The front rooms are also quite noisy. However if you can accept that you are in the third world and go with the flow this is an unusual little hotel in a good location with lovely staff, free airport transfers and really nice coffee shop with great coffee.

Unique Hotel Indigo Visit
I loved the unique architecture of the hotel particularly the central double staircase and the fantastic roof terrace area.
Really enjoyed the hotel atmosphere and culture. Staff were young and very helpful - particularly because my room was four floors up and no available elevator. House coffee and fresh baking was brilliant. Airport pickup and drop-off very efficient. Overall delightful.

BEST Value For Money
Great Location + Great Service + Great Value
This was my second trip to Luang Prabang and second time staying at Indigo House - Staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is very clean - Especially in an old town. On my first trip, I stayed at a different guesthouse which was filthy - I could not stand it so looked for a different place to stay and came across Indigo House. Absolutely loved this place - Room with balcony was awesome as you can overlook the busy intersection at the edge of the night markets. Rooms are very clean and overall experience was great. Indigo Cafe also have decent food and very good coffee. Highly recommend this place and i will continue to stay here each time I visit Luang Prabang.

Clean, Convenient, Close to Main Street
Location, Friendly and helpful staff and Food.
Great location, right next to the night markets and monks that process down the front of the hotel each morning (6am) to gather their daily food from the locals. Room was good, although I was on the top floor, thank goodness the staff carried my bags up for me. Excellent breakfast choices from a set menu. Great view from the top floor (4th floor) looking down below. Staff really helpful and free airport transfer to the airport (20 minutes away)
