Staff, food, surroundings
A lovely experience. Would certainly encourage a 2night stay as we did - the one nighters had finished the tour before it had really started. The staff, particularly the tour manager David Chen were excellent, very polite and informative, while Halong Bay itself is stunning. We were looking for a relaxing and chilled time, which we got. If you are looking for high octane thrills, look elsewhere. We would certainly recommend Indochina Sails to others.

Perhaps god earlier, not anymore

Cruise, Clean, Halong bay is alright
Perhaps earlier IndoChina sails had an exclusive tour (when it was highly rated). Now, it does the same trip as all other cruises (that offer it for less than 1/2 the price) and on a worse boat (worse rooms and boat and public areas). They also lie about everything. You can book a room with a balcony (and not get it); book a cruise with one itinerary (there are two routes in Halong Bay) and get the other. I was extremely disappointed.

Avoid it!!!! Triple the price for 'lower' quality

Cruise in halong bay -- 2 day / 1 night
They changed the itinerary without notice to make it identical to all other lower priced tours (you are surrounded by many other boats in these tours -- and it is not magical at all). I found out only when we were 2 hours from land. They also changed the boat so that there were no deluxe rooms (what I paid for)....and then kept lying about all of this. I was also not allowed to cancel and go back to port. I was sort of held hostage in a tour I did it book for 2 days. On top of this, the staff was very rude. Agoda was fantastic and dealt with the situation very well (post-fact, unfortunately, since there was no internet on the boat).

The Mystic Far East

The People, the space in the cabin and the food.
We had an absolutely fantastic 2 night stay on Indochina Sails. the staff are the stand out element that made the sail through this magical location so memorable. They were so caring, totally professional and made us feel welcomed and at home for our 2 night and 3 day sail.

Expensive but great

Food, Boat and only 4 guests
Excellent trip, expensive as you don't really get 3 whole days but this is clear in the blurb. Felt a bit pressured at times as on a tight schedule but with hindsight we did enjoy it all alot. Food and staff were amazing and something we won't forget in a hurry. I would highly recommend the tour and company.

Unexpectedly superb.

Service, food and organization.
I booked this one night/two day cruise through Agoda, obviously, at least two weeks in advance. For all that time, I never received an email from neither Agoda nor the Indochina Sails regarding our transportation from Hanoi to Halong. Therefore, we took the liberty of going to the place it said on the website where we could take a minivan to Halong to get on the cruise. Luckily, we got there early to find out that we had to book our transportation beforehand and not on the spot. We intended on booking our transportation, but didn't find any contacts of the sort.We were also told by the other cruise companies that we were supposed to be picked up at our hotel in Hanoi and we were supposed to be informed by either Agoda or Indochina Sails. As it was approaching 8:00 AM (the time where the minivan was supposed to leave to Halong) I started to get panic. So, I gave Agoda a call and told them about the situation. An Agoda representative put me on hold for about ten minutes and wouldn't let me speak to the Indochina sails staff directly. While I was being put on hold on the phone, an Indochina Sails van showed up to pick my boyfriend and I up. As soon as we got inside the van, the driver had told us that he went to our hotel to pick us up and I was very confused because we weren't informed of the matter whatsoever. In about two minutes, I was put on the phone with an Indochina Sails rep. She told me that Indochina Sails was informed of where we were staying and it was Agoda that was supposed to let us know all of the transportation etc. All in all, I blame Agoda for their poor communication with me. All I got from Agoda was the confirmation and nothing else. How were we supposed to know what to do without being informed? I will really reconsider doing business with Agoda again. The cruise, on the other hand, was excellent. The food was surprisingly amazing. The service was superb and the program itself was well put together. I highly recommend this cruise.
