Agoda.com Partners with Spanish Hotel Chain Sol Meliá

BANGKOK, April 15, 2010

Agoda.com, Asia's global hotel booking site and a part of Priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN), today announced its partnership with Sol Meliá, a leading Spanish hotel chain and one of the world's largest resort operators.

Established in 1956 by a 21-year old Spanish entrepreneur, Sol Meliá grew from a single property in Mallorca to a chain that now has more than 300 properties in 30 countries. Most of the firm’s properties are situated along the Spanish Mediterranean coast, but the brand also boasts properties in key resort destinations across Portugal, Brazil, Croatia and Germany, as well as seven properties in Asia.

David Wright, Vice President of Distribution and e-Commerce at Sol Meliá said the partnership would enable the brand to expand its distribution throughout Asia.

Through Agoda – which now offers hotel booking services in 30 languages – Sol Meliá is able to better penetrate the Asian market and increase inbound travel from customers based in the region. By partnering with one of the world's most successful and respected hotel chains, Agoda is able to strengthen its European presence and offer great Sol Meliá rates to a database of more than a million members.

Like all Agoda’s partners, Sol Meliá is able to control its hotel information and monitor its inventory through the custom-built Yield Control System (YCS). The YCS is an easy-to-use content management tool that enables hotels to alter rates and promotions online, as well as view reports on their properties' performance in the local market. The YCS is offered in several languages and includes instructional videos for first-time users.
