Mediocre stay

smiling staff, friendly staff, English-speaking staff
Cons: --Smoking: Although it's stated as a non-smoking hotel, our room was bathed in cigarette smoke (no wonder as the majority of Chinese men smoke suffocatingly oppressive cigarettes everywhere in China). The surprising thing were the ash trays in this non-smoking hotel. ??? --Cleanliness: the countertops or sink area in the bathroom was not wiped down before we arrived Good/Bad location: --The hotel is very near a metro station but not near to anything else such as a convenience store, restaurant outside of the hotel, etc. Pros: --Spacious: we were staying in a king deluxe room which was wonderfully large with a sofa. --Staff: very friendly, kind and warm. Also obliging to requests for extra bottles of water Miscellaneous comments: --The concierge-recommended guide was not helpful (though less expensive than the tours found on the web by about half). Basically the guide they set up for us was a semi-English speaking man with a car that new how to get to the Great Wall entrance and Forbidden City. He drove us there, but did little else. He didn't accompany us to tell us about the Great Wall and gave little more than one-word responses to our questions in the car about the city of Beijing, anything interesting about the Great Wall or Forbidden City. To our question about the Forbidden City, he replied, "the emperor used to live there." Not the kind of guide we were expecting.

Not bad

Big room
Walking distance to the subway station. Big room. But can improve in bathroom cleanliness, especially to the floor tiles. We have a midnight flight to Beijing, but the hotel allow us to check in on 8am, very good to us. Staff also quite friendly. Air con not cold enough maybe is because Beijing living culture because air con also not cold enough in shopping mall. Friendly room service staff advise us open the window. In overall, it is a not bad hotel and value to money.

Pleasant stay

fuss-free stay
Extended my stay at this hotel for the third time. so far so good. Only thing is that housekeeping may tend to be inconsistent. they can change the sheets and all but not vacuum the floor. Have to leave a note requesting for the floor to be vacuummed before it will be done. The hotel also does taxi arrangements for us which made our trip to the airport when leaving fuss-free. Overall, a decent hotel to live in.

First time visiting Beijing so we were planning to switch hotels around Beijing to experience different views and atmosphere. Hence, we only booked two nights first. However, after touring around in the first two days, we couldn't find another place that can be as accessible to the metro. Thus, we rebooked to remain staying at Inner Mongolia.
