It does not equivalent to 2 stars and poor conditi
1. The sound insulation is poor, always disturbed by sound created by adjacent rooms. Also, as it near roadside, we were woken up very early in the morning by road traffic. 2. Insufficent lighting. 3. Space is not sufficient. 4. The breakfast was very poor quality. 5. The staff were very cool. 6. The toilet, the room and the bedsheet were dirty.

So noisy

The bed was comfortable. The location.
It was not good. The shower doors don't close properly. I was on the bottom floor, right by the common area, and there was a group socialising and shouting until 2:30am. The receptionist did nothing about it, until I came out and complained. I would not recommend this hostel.

One of the poorest hostels I've stayed in in Asia.

The location in Chinatown is great. Very near the MRT and the Chinatown food street
This was no normally run hostel. Staffing seemed very arbitrary, occasionally there would be someone sat eating behind the desk but the majority of the time it was unmanned. He hostel wasn't cleaned on a over the three days we were there. There were stains in the toilets when we arrived which were still there when we left and the sheets on the beds did not look clean. The only thing the hostel had going for itself was the location otherwise I'd definitely not reccomend it.

Prime Location with Clean Facitilies

Location, Clean, Pretty quiet
iStay Inn was an amazing experience. At first when looking at the pictures, I was unsure, because of the artwork on the wall. But once I got there, it had a very quint feeling to it, just felt like staying at a friend's place. Don't be fooled by the 'urban art', this was just a theme to the hostel and the rooms were white and clean. The staff was amazing and very friendly, I ended up becoming friends with the owner of the hostel. She's an amazing person and always there to help. Makes an effort to make sure you have a good stay at the hostel. The people I met at the hostel were great also, they were very respectful of the after 11pm quiet time. At night, you can just sit outside (like a balcony), and just chat with other travellers. It was pretty cool. The room itself was very clean and air-conditioned. It was sufficient room for me (solo) and it had lockers, bed lamp and outlet plug for each bed. I stayed in a room with no windows which I liked because it was quiet, but even the windowed rooms were pretty quiet (the hostel was away from all the bars). Location, you can't beat this location, it's at the prime area in Chinatown, and you're walking distance from Club st. (The street with bars and restaurants). Even though, you're one street off Club st., I couldn't hear any noise from that street. And you definitely couldn't hear any noise from Chinatown. Facilities, the washroom was very clean and the showers were fine. Don't expect it to be luxurious, it just has the basics soap / shampoo. For breakfast, there was free fruit and bread which you can use to toast, and some peanut butter and jam. Nothing fancy, it was sufficient. I think for what you pay for, it's a great deal. My criteria's for choosing a hostel was that it was clean, quiet and location, and iStay Inn satisfied all 3. Thanks for making my experience in Singapore memorable. If I plan to come back, I'll definitely stay at iStay Inn again!

Short Trips for Party

Close to MRT, Personal Safe, Friendly stuff
Love the design of the hostel as it make you feel like home. Remember to check the bed before you go to sleep, had one bad experience due to the sheet were unclean. But they change it once it was told. Overall, stuff are very friendly and you would love them for their kind and warming heart. If you can speak cantonese, it helps a lot. :)
