Close to the beach, but not much else around.

The room was clean and had a nice large balcony. The staff were very helpful except they didn't speak much English, which should be expected since Hainan is part of China. The pool on the balcony was a nice touch, but a privacy shade would have been nice. As it was, if you want to soak in the tub, you'll need to wear your swim trunks because otherwise everyone will see your business.

A Good Hotel with excellent view

This is a very good hotel with excellent sea view, and the transportation is very convenience. A bus stop just behind the hotel and easy to catch taxi. The street market will operate right in front of the hotel at night, don't miss out the seafood and bbq there.

Great hotel in South Sanya Bay 4 star
Great location across the street from the beach

Lovely 4 star hotel across the street from the beach in Sanya Bay. Large room with King size bed. Each room had a bath tub on the balcony - nice plus. Breakfast is traditional Chinese style with soup, noodles and congee. Staff provided great service - but limited English is spoken. Overalla good stay. The only problems was that the Agoda search function listed this hotel as having airport transfers which it does not. I ended up overpaying a taxi at the airport to get to the hotel

This hotel is located in a area where food stalls open up every night on the street. They offer a variety of grilled foods at a reasonable price.

Great location, room size varies. Optional views.
Book Good view - Facing seas. Night hawker stalls till late hours. reasonable price.

this is the second time which i stay in this timton hotel int'l. in nov 2011 & dec 2012.
my wife & me likes the sea view & swimming pool views & just few minutes walk to the fine sand beach.
in nov 2011, we enjoy the road-side & seaside bbq & qingtao beers. thus we go back this time.
1st night, we took road-side bbq seafood & qingtao beers was shook & perfect.
but this trip 2nd night, we have a bad experience in timton hotel, we pay for the bbq buffet served by the hotel rmb for two persons including beer. they serve oyster, beef, pork, chicken, multon etc. after taking the dinner, we went back to our room and i had a bad diarrhoea and my wife had minor one only. it was fine and i continue to my office tasks on computer to midnight. i went to sleep, but i have to woke up 5x to the toilet bowl & same time feel weak & cold (fever kick-in) & feel like vomitting. any drink & food i take, i have to go to toilet in few minutes. at 9am plus, my wife helps me to buy some chinese medicine from the pharmacy shop, but does not help. we skip breakfast, and about 10.15am, we went to timton reception inform them of food poisioning from their bbq buffet and hope for a jab to continue my hoilday. they advise me best to visit 425 government hospital, we took a taxi there ourself.
in the hospital, doctor examines and took my blood & excrement for analysis. it was confirmed and doctor advised me to stay overnight which i told them i have to catch train & flight to singapore next mng. so doctor prescribe some drips for me which i have to suffer for 3-4 hours in the hospital. i was discharged at ard 3pm and paid rmb for the consultation & medication. we went back to timton hotel and ask the front office manager for the medical fee spent. she refuses sternly and insist that their food has no problem. we had ard 30min argument in the reception but she still refused. no choice, we went back to our room and i continue to have my diarrhoea till next mng. but fever back to normal

do not take the bbq buffet in the hotel. they do not responsible for any food poisioning. like my case, i took the hotel bbq from 7-10pm. immediately i had a diarrhoea, they still denial totally. and it is 2.5-3x more expensive than road-side n seaside bbq with drinks & beers.
the atmosphere is much better than the hotel. u choose what u like.

Great location and lovely hotel
Hotel surrounding with good ambient , balcony facing south china sea

Bedroom features and balcony facing calm seaview that create a very relax and pleasure stay throughout.
Morning buffet breakfast with great variety sumptuous food .
Swimming pool was great too and we enjoy every moment beside there was a pool bar which serve beverage as at when you had a nice cool drink anytime.
Moreover is very convenience to reach tourist attraction location..

Chinese hotel with some odd features

My wife and I stayed here our last night in Sanya so that we could be close to the airport for an early flight. Before staying here we stayed at the Nest in the forest and on Yalong Bay so our expectations were lifted quite high.
I would say the hotel is very Chinese in its design. There are two luxury cars on display in the lobby; still not completely sure what their purpose is but they are there. The staff couldn't find our reservation so we waited for half an hour before going to the room. The room is big and clean enough. On the balcony there is a bathtub. Every room has one of these bathtubs that apparently have spring water (from where I have no idea). I don't think anyone has ever used one of these tubs because depending on where your room is you can see almost everyone's tub directly. Also who wants to sit in hot spring water with temperatures in the 30s?
The beach across the street is a public beach. It's pretty dirty and if your foreign you will have people trying to sell you stuff left and right.
I will say one thing; there is a cool little night stand shopping street near the hotel where you can get some good street food and small trinkets.

nice. but noisy

get a room facing the pool, this is a must if you choose this hotel. otherwise, it will be very noisy when the nightmarket starts at 7pm. the night market was great for cheap food if you can stand the sanitary condition. i encountered few chinese smoking in the elevator three times in this hotel. i am a taiwanese who travel to china regularly and smoking in the elevator is not common but possible on mainland china,. no beach chairs and not a beach front hotel because a 4 lane street is between the hotel and the beach . nice buffet but not top standard... roomy and nice view of the beach from hotel rooms.

Nice Hotel but Bad Service

We stayed at the Timton International Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel itself was nice - clean and spacious rooms with a balcony overlooking the beach. Clean bathrooms. There are jacuzzis on the balcony but they are very small it never appealed to us.
The food is average at best. 2 breakfasts were included. They have a buffet with about 70% Chinese food and 30% Western food. Very oily. We ate at the dinner buffet the first night and didn't really enjoy it. Service isn't great - Minimal English and when you want to order a drink at the poolside bar you have to wait 10 minutes to ask someone and then another 20 minutes to receive your (warm) beer. It took us 30 minutes to get our coffees.
Location is pretty good, right across the street from the beach.
We had a 9:50pm flight, and since we checked out at noon, we asked if we could just use one of the rooms to shower before our flight. They didn't allow it.

A wonderful hotel with great view and good service

Our hotel stay at Timton was wonderful. Beautiful seaview and the outdoor bathtub hot spring was a great touch and the swimming pool was very relaxing. It wasn't very crowded.
It's also near groceries stores and many roadside fruit and foodstall which was affordable and delicious.
The -ve side is that the hotel staff drove us to a nearby seafood stall which was very expensive and not tasty at all.
The breakfast in was also very oily. Perhaps it's just the way the Chinese cook.
We wanted to use the fitness studio but it was not opened early in the morning. Hotel staff told us that it's only open at 10am. By 10am, all the tourists would have gone for their excursions.
The hotel aircon was also not working very well. We had to change a room because the aircon broke down. The aircon in the new room was also not working very well.
However overall the hotel is very nice because we love the pool. The hotel staff cleaned the water everyday and the water is not very cold. I could swim at 7:30am as well as in the afternoon. We could stay in the pool almost the whole day without leaving the hotel.
We enjoyed ourselves despite the hiccups.

Clean & beautiful Hotel with courteous staff

we love this hotel and will stay again in our next visit. big & clean room with beautiful sea view. hotel staff including corceige,was extremely courteous and helpful. breakfast was sumptuous. and most importantly, there are food stalls outside hotels. we had two dinners there and enjoyed the foods there, reasonable priced. it is certainly a 5 stars hotel.
