Adequate hotel in Athens for 1 night

Location, Cleanliness, Staff
Most hotels in Athens are quite dirty, small and overpriced. Jason Inn Hotel in comparison was good value for money. I recommend this hotel for those on a budget who want something better than a hostel and for those who need a 1-night stay to catch a flight. The staff were very friendly and helpful which can be a rarity in Greece. Overall we had a good impression. Unfortunately we missed the free breakfast but heard it is pretty good and they serve it on the patio overlooking Acropolis. Next time.

Worth your money

reception staff was really helpful, room was clean & location quite central
Distance from the metro station was about 10 minutes walk but as we were dragging our luggages we got lost a few times before we managed to find the hotel. Reception staff on duty was really helpful on guiding us on where to go as we had really limited time that day. Didnt had chance to take breakfast as we checked out early to catch a flight. Would recommend this to anyone, price is good and beds are comfortable as well.

One night only

It was conveniient to the metro. It was close to parts of the Plaka. The view from the rooftop breakfast terrace had a beautiful view of the Parthenon.
The Hotel itself looks somewhat older in person than what the photos represent, inside and out. Our check-in was quick and easy and the staff was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately our room left a lot to be desired. There was a mildew/musty smell throughout the room and in the bathroom, which gave us the impression of a lack in cleanliness. The wallpaper in areas was peeling at the seems and the outdated furniture and bedding just added to a run down and depressing feel to everything. We called down to the front desk and informed them of the smell and our disappointment with the room, he quickly handled the issue and had us moved to another room. While still sporting an older outdated ambiance from the bedding to the furniture, it at least smelled and looked much cleaner. Even the lighting was better. We were departing on a tour the very next morning and just wanted to rest from the traveling... Had we checked into that room first, we probably wouldn't have had any issues especially after having breakfast on their rooftop... that was the highlight by far. A beautiful sunrise breakfast with a view of the Parthenon. That is the selling point.
