Standard Asian business hotel

location, affordable, hot shower
Book a hotel at Jiu Gong only if you have business in the Minhang area, which is located in the outskirts of Shanghai and is a kilometer from the Minhang industrial zone where factories and production facilities are located. The hotel isn't very well known so taking a cab from Pudong International is not only expensive but most drivers will have trouble finding it. Take the tube whenever possible since it's much cheaper. Jiu Gong is just next to Line 5 Chunshen station. Checking in can be difficult since only a handful of the staff are familiar with Agoda. In my last two visits to Jiu Gong, the front desk wasn't sure whether to charge me or not. Ideally, you should have a Chinese companion or can call a Chinese-speaking friend by mobile in case you encounter issues. The room size is typical of Asian business hotels and you should pay for Internet only if you really need it. Request for blankets especially during the cold Shanghai winter. Ask for assistance if you can't figure out the Chinese airconditioning remote control. The Chinese breakfast is wholesome but definitely not for everyone, especially Westerners expecting an intercontinental meal. If you did pay for the breakfast, get the stubs from the front desk when you check in.

good location near subway

very good rate and friendly and helpful staff is good size too
the hotel was hard to find. it took a long time for the taxi to arrive. i had to get a friend to write the address in chinese characters and find the phone number of the hotel in the chinese phone book. it would be simple to say that it is located near xinzhuan subway station and the next staion on line 5. the staff do not speak any english. agoda needs to understand we are in china. we need chinese address please.and phone number.the hotel is on a busy road. the cars always sound their horn in peak hour. i think its a national sport here. atnight its o.k. you hardly hear the traffic
