Nice hotel with some customer service issues

Very nice rooms, nice neighborhoods, good prices
Staff could have been more helpful, and not all of them speak English. Also, prices at the bar are outrageous but that's a small issue. Other than that, this hotel is a great bargain: rooms are perfect, the location is good, in a more "real" Chinese neighborhood than the center of town, but still very close to it.

Exceptional Hotel for the pricd

Perfect location just north of the Bund area, only 1.40pounds taxi fare. Could not have asked for a more comfortable room. Unlike a lot of Chinese Hotels at this price range, the King size bed was very cosy and comfy ensuring a good night's sleep.
Could not have wished for a more comfortable Hotel to have stayed in. Good western style buffet breakfast, TV in room with many western channels, all in all would have no hesitation in using this Hotel again and again. The Hotel staff pleasant and helpful, be it that their English is rather scant except for the Managers who speak excellent English. But do not let that worry you as they will go out of their way to help.

Nice rooms but staff is not very helpful

Very nice rooms, great "real Shanghai" neighborhood
The hotel is not directly in the center of town, but not very far, and the neighborhood is great, with lots of small restaurants and a real street life. The rooms are great for the price too. However, the staff could really do with a few courses on customer relations...

Fantastic hotel withgreat city views.

great comfortable beds , hotel close to the bund. great views!!
Fantastic rooms on the 23rd and 24th floors. Bathrooms are great and the glass walls give you a great view of the city.

Never Go There

Location - not too bad. Spacious if unattractive room.
This is a hotel for bus-loads of tourist groups trapped into a big shabby hotel where nobody would want to stay. Breakfast was cold and disgusting, served by morons. No cuisine was correct, neither western, Chines, or Japanese. At the front desk, they are unable to welcome you in a polite and efficient way. you can spend a long time trying to use the lift. Wait patiently in line and enjoy the shabby "ambiance".

Worth a try!

Helpful staff at reception and rooms very clean
This was not within walking distance to the city in hot weather but just a short taxi ride and there are plenty of taxis available. Great views of the Pearl Tower at night if you ask for a room facing south which reception were happy to oblige. Would not recommend the room service food as mine was terrible but breakfast downstairs was OK and plentiful. Staff all very helpful.

Good location for the price
Without extra charge, I got a high rise room and the view was great.
