Very Convenient hotel

交通便利、待客親切

When i arrive Kumamoto JR station I notice the hotel at once with an cute owl at the back door. The hotel staff is very help while helping to check in despite their English may not be good. I sincerely feel their hospitality and would definitely recommend to others. Kumamoto is not a big city but the tourism office and this hotel does leave me good impression

Right next to JR

Very convenient from JR station and if you are using Kumamoto as base to visit other cities.

hotel is a distance from town but it's only a short tram ride away which u can catch at regular intervals right outside the hotel. not much to do in the city anyway so staying beside the jr for us is still a good choice since we travel out of kumamoto daily.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: went to their famous koen which is so small and nothing to see at all, wasted our trip there. the castle is ok. but having been to tokyo, kyoto and several other cities, kumamoto really paled in comparison in this aspect. take the jr then a local bus to ibusuki for hot sand bath. that was totally enjoyable and a high point for us.

Just a JR hotel

Great location
7.7
Love the reasonable price. If you are not small, don't stay in this hotel. The double bed was so small, we found it very tight. Bathroom was small too. In Japan, you can pay a bit more and buy a bigger room. Our travel schedule meant we didn't need to spend much time in the hotel for those 2 nights. Apart from the size of the room, everything is fine. It is clean and right next door to the bullet train station.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Buy a JR Pass. Kumamoto is mid-point in Kyushu. Staying in this hotel to save money (only for sleeping), you can zip up and down using bullet trains to see places.

Super convenient location but Eng is useless here

Convenient location, super clean and good quality body cleasing and shampoo
9.3
The hotel location is super great. It's just right in the front of the station surrounded by lots of cconvenient stores and japanese fast food. The room is very clean with no smoking smell. The best part is Shisedo face and body clensing as well as shampoo. The only one weak point is that the front desk staff hardly undertand basic Eng although they are full of service mind.

Excellent location

Excellent location right beside the train station for arrival and departure and tram station for sightseeing. The room could have been a little cleaner, but was acceptable.
Pichet U. Families with older children Thailand, September 6, 2012
great location

the best thing of this hotel is the great location closed to the JR railway station
7.7
we book the double bed and when we arrive, we would like to change to double beds,so we have to pay extra for 3300 yen per night. although the room is available when we check in around 10.30 am but we still have to wait until 14.00 for the time to check in, so we left our luggages and started for sight-seeing. when we arrived, luggages were already in our room. the room was rather spacious for the extra we have to pay. we did not eat breakfast in the hotel as our room rate did not include breakfast. however, nearby the hotel ,there are so many fast food shops

Great location!!

Location, location!!! It's so convenient to be staying right outside the train station. Especially for short trips or bad weather, you don't waste time looking around for your hotel.

Hotel was great mainly because of the location. Rooms are not renovated but they are very clean.

Great front desk staff!

Easy parking and clean rooms!
9.3
the hotel staff assisted us with our overlapping reservations between jr hotel kumamoto and jr hotel nagasaki. our reservations were made through agoda and the front desk was amazingly gracious enough to call and translate our situation in japanese to correct our reservations. this was very nice of them! the hotel was very clean, had adjacent parking, and directly connected to kumamoto station. there wasn't many places to shop or many restaurants. however it was 1-2hrs from takachiho gorge and aso farm land. those 2 locations are extremely worthwhile and jr kyushu hotel kumamoto was a better price than any hotels near takachiho gorge or aso farmland. we plan to go back to this hotel again in the future for other adventures on kyushu island!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: See Takachiho Gorge and Aso Farm Land Resort!

VERY clean hotel and amazing staff!

Great location, VERY good staff!

this hotel was the cleanest we had stayed in of the 4 hotels accross japan. we had made a mistake in our hotel booking and the front desk was able to call our next jr hotel and adjust our reservations. thank goodness... we don't speak fluent japanese and would have been double booked and without a hotel for 1 night!!! the hotel has convenient parking adjacent for $1000/night and is connected to the station. it's a small station and town so there isn't much to do. we were traveling to several sights 1hr away and this was the best location we found for the convenience and price. we stayed 2 nights. it's an area for limited choices on food and shopping (almost non-existent) so i would probably recommend staying just 1 night.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: by car, i would highly recommend visiting takachiho gorge, mt aso, and aso farm land. these locations are an hour out or so... but totally worth it!!!
