Away from the maddening crowd
The Marriott is located far from the old quarter where most of the attractions are located. The do however more than make up for this by a thrice daily shuttle to 4 tourist spots like the water puppet theater at the Hoan Kiem lake, Hoa Lao prison, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and so on but you have to catch a one way can ride back. Their tourist desk will give friendly advice on which cab companies to take and which to avoid. They even have taxi cards in Vietnamese to provide instructions to drivers and a handy free Hanoi guide book. We stayed in room 240 a lake facing suite although paid for a city facing suite. They must have quietly upgraded us. Room was HUGE. 3 tvs, 2 bathrooms, 2 room sized closets- the size of a small apartment! Impressed! Check in was speedy at the club level (6). Club access was definitely a plus with 3 meals per day if you chose to eat in. The hotel boasts the second best restaurant in Hanoi and has a crystal Jade palace restaurant for Chinese cuisine. Swimming pool is indoor on the 8th floor but it is small considering the size of the hotel. Overall a Pleasant experience and would return if staying again in Hanoi

A serene escape from Hanoi's reality
I live in Hanoi and life can get too stressful at times with jampacked streets and crowded public areas so my escape to JW Marriott with my boyfriend was already a luxury. We stayed for a night only, on our first anniversary, (thanks to our demanding jobs) but we both had a great time. We loved French Grill, where we had our anniversary dinner. Man, service was awesome and food was just so yummm! Most of their specials were actually shipped from France and their chef is French too! It was an overall amazing French cuisine experience for us. Then there's Antidote bar with a DJ for our drinks and music after dinner. I also especially liked the 8th floor - swimming pool, juice bar and gym! They're all so spacious and clean. Overall, I'd say JW is inarguably the best hotel I've stayed at in Hanoi (and yes, I've been to all 5 star ones in the city). I wouldn't hesitate to book another stay at any Marriott in the world.

Great service and facilities
Awesome facilities and service. Staff were stellar and great breakfast. Location is slightly farther away from the city centre but you can easily Uber around the city.

Great hotel but a little far from the center
Room size, food, helpful staffs
I have spent a few nights at JW Marriott Hotel HN. Enjoyed the food so much every time I was here, even room service. Room size is nice and quiet surroundings. Would have been great if it were a little closer to city center.

Great hotel, away from city centre
Service, rooms, staff
The Marriott is everything to would expect. Big, modern, well-run, efficient. Great staff. Rooms - pretty much perfect, with everything you might possibly need. Food and drink - breakfast is awesome; you could spend all day there! Similarly the evening buffet dinner is impressive, but not cheap, even by Western standards. The main bar is pretty cool, with resident lounge DJs adding to the atmosphere. Leisure - gym is very good. Pool is covered, so no chance to enjoy a day in the sunshine by the pool. I was disappointed by this. Also, runners should note that the inviting looking tracks around the adjacent lake are private. I was chased off there at 7am by a security guy on a moped. Location - prefect if you want to be near the convention centre, not so perfect if you want to go into the city centre. It's a half-hour drive. And the airport is even further away.

staff could have done better
nice environment place
all was good. except the last part the concierge try to cheat us with overcharge for the transport we pay for the bmw as promised for the pick up end up we get hyundai to the airport when ask why payment is different then the table we saw earlier they rectified, but then there they put 15% extra charge ( fair enough) but when we get the total bill they charge us another 15% overall and just "act blur" was too rushing to even argue cheap thrill staffs for a hotel of this status
